Why couldn't Dawson outbox Pascal when Froch could?

Pascal is so much better now.... bla bla bla .... Both Froch and Pascal have improved since they fought and I would still favour Froch in a rematch...

    Froch beats Dawson IMO

I had Froch/Pascal even the last time I scored it, actually.

I don't really agree with the idea that Pascal is better at 175lbs. He looked worse for wear after 6 rounds, so I don't think the added muscle suits him.

That said, it's a combination of three things: Froch being underrated, Dawson being overrated and styles making fights.

It's because Froch is underrated on here due to his unorthodox style.

Come on man, to say Dawson has no heart is an insult to the man!

Every fight is different. I would fancy Pascal strongly to beat Froch in a rematch! He is a much improved fighter since moving up to 175lbs! If he were to face Froch again it would have to be at LHW!

    He hasn't improved that much.

Against Froch he was having success early because he was dragging Froch into a brawl - usually what Froch wants..... he was winning the battle of the right hand shots.

I've not seen the Dawson fight yet, but I'd imagine his back hand lead followed up with the left hook would be more effective against a passive southpaw like Chad?

In a plain and simple jabbing contest he's lose handily as he did to Froch - it's all about imposing your fight plan on him. If you do that, it's relatively straight forward, so long as you are on your guard.

Dawson just had an off night, I expected Pascal to suprise him like this because how much he was talking about Bute and the super six guys. Pascal in the mean time was completely focused on Chad. Dawson hasn't been in a real fight since the first Johnson fight and the Adamek fight before that. He had his A game in both those fights and still had scary moments.

Dawson wins the rematch, but the clause isn't for an immediant rematch. Bute-Pascal for the early part of '11.

Because Pascal ran and Dawson let him.

Because there was not enough competition in is division, its was the worst division in boxing before Pascal get in, hey Dawson have to fight agains 40 years old guys 4 times, there is a problem there, i have nothing about these guys but.....stamina, fastest, skill when you are 40 and over are not the same if youre younger,

Every fighy was too easy for him, and because Pascal lose agains Froch, Dawson think that will be a piece of cake

That's more like it...and Pascal was fortunate to be facing a Dawson having an off night...like Ali the first time vs Norton (one of many examples)...comparisons like the thread starter is implying are foolish...there's no way that Froch compares to Chad Dawson as a slick boxer. Pascal exceeded any of his past efforts last night..against a subpar Dawson...that hsppens in boxing from time to time..and it will inject some much needed new drama into the lightheavy division.
