Dirrell is bigger i think. Froch is close too. Most the top guys at SMW are his size. He makes 168 no problem so why not

I'm all in favor of that fight but **** catch weights. Make it at 175lbs or don't make it at all.

Bute needs to line Stieglitz next and unify, then take some mandatories etc or fight Pascal in a big money non-title fight, and then wait on the winner of Super 6.

If Bute wins at 175 there's no way he'll stay there

If Pascal wins at 168 there's no way he stays there

**** the belts just fight at 172 since neither of them are leaving their division.

Pascal would probably be slightly drained at 172lbs, so it would seem unfair. He can definitely not make 168lbs anymore.

Bute would take to 175lbs well. He wouldn't say: "Yeah, I lost, but that's because 175 lbs was too much of a jump."
His walking around weight is higher than that of Pascal's and so is his weight 6-7 weeks to fightnight.

Also, at 175lbs, he would fight Pascal fair and square, giving him every advantage, including a Champion's entrance. If Bute wins, he would get more credit if he fought Pascal at 175lbs, and rightly so.

It's not so much the belts either... it's the title of the best LHW in the world... that's worth Bute going up to 175 lbs for. Of course, he would have to get 50% of the purse, because he alone would sell 70-80% of the tickets.

    1) How do you know his walk around weight is more than Pascals?

    2) If that's true then your "Pascal would be weight drained" claim is nullified lol

at 172 Bute is moving up 4lbs, Pascal down 3lbs. That's fair.

like i said i don't imagine that Bute is desperate to be recognized as the top guy at 175. I don't care what weight it's at i just want to see it.

No, because Bute, even the Bute with more muscle on him, doesn't rely on carrying so much muscle as Pascal does for his gameplan. Because he doesn't carry so much muscle, Bute can cut weight easier.

You may be right that Pascal could cut down to 172lbs but I doubt he wouldn't be weight-drained.

Bute wants to be recognised as the best fighter he can be, including as the top guy at 175lbs. It's not just about money with him. It's about titles, glory and recognition too.

I also very much want to see this fight too, and in truth, Pascal wouldn't accept a catchweight weight that he couldn't make without killing himself. However, I think Bute would want to have a crack at the 175lbs Championship, if he can and he won't be paid much better for it than against Pascal, now. Also, the risk/reward is pretty damned good now, for Bute.

Bute walks around 185 lbs. I'll admit that Pascal may walk around 185lbs+, but I strongly doubt he walks around more than 190lbs.
