I see a lot of hate on Chad Dawson after last night. I agree he didnt look to be mentally into the fight last night. But, he still came close to beating pascal in Montreal off his game. Yes he lost his zero, big deal. He took on a tough opponent and didnt bring his A game. He is is still young and I believe he will bounce back and show the speed, combinations and defense that brought him this far. Chad Dawson in my eyes is still the better fighter than Pascal and last night was an off night. Yet, he still had Pascal in bad shape in the 11th. He will come back from this loss and avenge the defeat like all great fighters do. I am still on board Chad!!! :good
I wasnt terribly Impressed with pascal, running away then jumping in off balance and flurrying. Most of his shots were blocked. he did lead with his head a few times as well. He had good hand speed and an unorthodox style that took a while for Chad to figure out. But, I still think Dawson is the better fighter skill wise. IMO, he had an off night! I am still a fan and support him!:good
Dawson was just overhyped is all. People react against this. He's a decent fighter, just not the P4P superstar some were making him out to be. Personally, I think he's pretty solid except for his suspect chin, which could let him down against more powerful punchers. I also must say that he did himself no favors by griping afterward and looking like a sore loser. Boxing fans don't go for that.
I think this lost will change him for the better. Possible making him much more aggressive. If the rematch happens, he will win.
No showing support for a guy who just suffered his first loss in the midst of all the hate threads. boxing is a tough sport, losing once isnt the end of the world!
Dawson's still a handful for anyone at the weight. As generic as it sounds, he needs to decide what he really wants. He's got to ask himself how much he really wants to be a fighter. When I see him box, I just don't get a sense of passion or urgency out of him. I thought Pascal would be the guy to bring that back out in him, but he's got a level of calmness closer to apathy than control. At no time did he ever stop to think he could've done something better- and that's a dangerous attitude for a fighter to take when he's clearly been defeated.
I agree with you rock good post,. you have to say last night he suffered an off game mentally and he didnt see it. I think thats a flaw that many people have inside and outside of boxing. He needed to admit that he didnt have the desire last night and Pascal was a difficult style for him to figure out. Not that he couldnt have done things differently, he certainly had the ability to beat Pascal last night, as evidenced by the clean rds he won. he seemed almost too loose and to use yuor words, apathetic in the ring, not a good quality for a guy fighting out of his environment on a world level.
100% im not a fan of either fighters, but a fan shouldnt check out cuz their fighter had an "off" night. And looked like Chad Dawson had one. He just wasnt able to pull the trigger as much as he could and should have. A neutral viewer could tell that Dawson is more skilled of the two. The punch tracks showed it also, though Dawson was less active. Pascal just didnt seem to hit or punch clean, even alot of his combos, not 1 punch hit clean. But he was putting in alot more effort and energy in the fight than Dawson. In the end, thats what counted for the judges. Dawson will have the benefit of reviewing the fight and realize he needed to pick up the energy lvl and also capitalize on some situations which put Pascal in danger. I would expect a strong adjustment to the mentality part of the rematch....
It's far more impressive than the ****s who label anyone who takes a loss as "hype job" or "exposed". :good
it might teach him not to try and cruise rounds when he thinks he has done enough. And teach me not to bet my last v500 on the lazy twat!
