I'd feel fairly safe dismissing Cotto's chances should he rematch Pacquaio. So long as Manny doesn't show signs of decline when fighting Margo.

 

I can't take JCC jr's chances against Cotto serious for one moment.

If you have a strong conviction that one guy will win, does that count as "dismissing" the other guy? I suppose I will be guilty of this the next time a big fight swings round then, I rarely sit on the fence. I have a strong conviction that Wladimir Klitschko will beat Sam Peter rather easily, so I guess I am dismissing Peter's chances in that one. I plead guilty.

 

I'd consider ''dismissing someone's chances'' as ''refusing to accept a reasonable, balanced, well put argument as to why fighter X can beat fighter Y''.

Saying ''Sam Peter might beat Wlad because Wlad has a glass chin'' isn't - Wlad has improved a lot since the first fight, Peter hasn't. My take on that one would be that Peter had his golden chance, couldn't take it and lost.

 

Sam Peter has a chance at victory if he comes into the ring in relatively good shape and he gives it a determined effort. This is a chance because we've seen Wladimir hurt on multiple occasions, and Peter has proven to possess the punching power to, if not stop the big man, at least hurt him. I'd still be liable to bet the house of Klitschko, and wouldn't have any disagreements with those who were unwilling to entertain the idea of a Miraculous punch landing by Samuel Peter.

I give Berto no chance against anyone good or anyone who isn't about to retire.

He got exposed by Quintana who you could almost see needed a walking stick to get to the ring.
