Take Marciano out of that list and you might be onto something.

Marciano can't be in the Top3. He beat some contenders from a poor generation, an old Joe Walcott and an old Ezzard Charles. Top10 sounds more reasonable.

No he is not the only undisputed heavyweight champion of all time.... maybe you don't quite understand the term undisputed champion???

Fact of the matter is it comes down to who you beat during your career and Marciano whilst he never lost he never fought anyone worth a mention neither. His resume is nowhere near the likes of Ali, Foreman, Lewis or Holmes even

    1. Louis
    2. Ali
    3. Lewis
    4. Foreman
    5. Marciano
    6. Holmes
    7. Dempsey
    8. Holyfield
    9. Tyson
    10. Frazier

My list does vary from time to time but it almost always contains these same names in similar order. It really depends on how highly you rate Foreman's comeback, the fact that Tyson was the youngest, Lewis avenged his losses or that Marciano was undefeated, etc.

Basically, this list is based on accomplishments, not head to head. Of course I left out such famous old timers as Jack Johnson, Jeffries, Sullivan, etc. due to the lack of complete, good quality film of them in the ring.

It can be said that retiring undefeated is the greatest feat in itself. An argument can be made even though I don't personally agree with it. Some could just as easily claim Foreman is the best since he effectively had 2 successful careers.............others would say that no Heavyweight was as dominate, even if it was for a short time, as Mike Tyson.

You severely under rate Max Schmeling.

He had a great jab & good power but most of all he was a thinking boxer with good counter punching. Not a top 10 but top 20 or so.

This is true unfortunately. I've heard some claiming that Jerry Quarry was great too........................simply not the case.

Larry Holmes, maybe Foreman but both are way above Lewis.
