Bradley vs. Alexander in jeopardy over purse split?

I miss Valero.

Boxing needs someone like him to spice up this sport so badly.

Valero would beat them all.

 

yea i hope khan ends up fighting maidana next. I don't think maidana would have much problems with the purse split if he is to fight the winner of alexander-bradley. The dude just like to fight.

It would have been interesting watching a valero-maidana fight.

 

He's not a great finisher but hurts every guy he fights. He will be able to finish Khan when he gets him hurt IMO.

 

Hopefully this is just early wrangling and wont stop the fight happening.

Still the cynic in me says this might be Alexander's teams way of trying to bow out of the fight to give him time to work on his development before stepping up. Anybody hear what they're looking for?

yup just take the fight. The winner would become the top dawg at 140 and can demand the bigger purse over khan or fight marquez or hatton next. A fight with hatton or marqquez should give them the biggest payday of their career.

 

For me really it should be 50-50. If not i believe bradley should get at least 55-45 just because he is the top jr welterweight right now.

It should be 50/50, IMO. HBO will only pay big money because BOTH fighters are in the fight. Yes, Devon draws more, but the fact that he'll get the fight at home means he should get a little less than he would otherwise. That's how purse bid rules usually work anyway.

Alternatively, if they can get it in a neutral location, then I'd maybe split it 55/45 for Alexander. Everyone makes less money that way though.

And the only reason Alexander is unified is because Bradley dropped his second belt because they wanted him to enforce his mandatory within 60 days. It's not as if Bradley hasn't also unified. That part of it is irrelevant, IMO.

i do think it is a major problem for bradley that he doesn't fill out big venues in his home location. Every biggish fight he has from now on, he 'll have to travel everytime or hope he hits the bigtime and makes it in vegas.

 

Valero vs any of the top 140 guys = interesting.

 

That is why i think he should take this fight. If he shows the world he can beat alexander then he will be able to sell and make more money in his next fight. If JMM-Hatton do happen then he can fight the winner of that fight and make a lot of money.
