Eubank. Everybody ****ing hated him, especially black people. My age group anyway. Never seen anything like it. His last two fights against Thompson won him a lot of respect and in the years since his retirement everybody seems to have forgotten how much they despised him.

Lennox was always in Bruno's shadow
    Eubank was always in Benns

It until they beat their respective contemporary's that they gained the public's respect.

I thought lennox off top and I'm glad to see people already saying it before I came in. As for someone else Julio Ceasar Chavez (yep I said it). Alot of people hated him when the meldrick taylor debacle happened as well as the draw robbery against sweat Pea. Looking back I think people respect him alot more now for his achievements and he has taken his place as a boxing all time great in thier minds as well. There was an ass load of hatred and contempt for him.

:patsch Ali beat Foreman, Frazier and Liston, when they were at the top of their games, thats 3 ATGs. Who does Lewis have on his record that wasn't old and faded?

No one. Lewis fans have taken a very good top ten heavy and are desperatey trying to turn him into an top 3 heavyweight, which he is not. It's the same thing we see with Joe Calzaghe.

The UK doubted him, too. Lewis wasn't popular until he beat up on Bruno. THe UK fans often dismissed him as a foreigner because he learned boxing in Canada and had Jamaican roots. That's a little bit of history no British boxing fan will admit to. They abolsutely hated Lewis, until he started winning.

Pernell was highly respected for his abilities but was always perceived as boring by most. He seems to be a boxing god now!!
