Personally I find Gamboa one of the most exciting boxers to watch of the new generation. His power, speed, intensity and ability to ceate drama by being hittaable makes all his fights exciting. As a biased fan I wouldnt want him to fight... caballero, as I think he could give Gamboa HUGE problems. However I think he takes care of JML in a difficult fight. Afew fights after he's ready for Caballero. Assuming things go as plan where do you see Gamboa in about 3-5 years? Is he top 3 P4P at the time? Has he not goten that far?

He beats both of those guys pretty easily. Caballero would be easier IMO though.

He looks good but it's too early to say for me. He is certainly gonna be in some exciting fights in the future with his style. One to watch for sure but like I say, future P4P? Too early to even think about IMO

He's good, but he seriously needs to step it up like Juanma is doing. What happened to the Rojas fight?

Gamboa is still undefeated. I know that it is way too early. However, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, and say that he deserves a chance at the P4P Championship in the future :)

Rojas pulled out becuase of hand and shoulder injuries. He just had surgery, which was successful, and hopes to be back in the fall, then fight the winner of the Gamboa-Salido unifaction fight after that. Hypothetically, Gamboa, Salido or Rojas could have 3 belts by the beginning of next year. I think Gamboa is the likeliest candidate.

Wrong! Gamboa will defeat JuanMa easily, will make it look simple! As far as Caballero, not even a challenge, too slow, hittable and predictable for lighting fast and powerful Gamboa.

JuanMa is way overrated, Gamboa has fought a lot of southpaws in his career back in Cuba and at the International level. If Rigondeaux gets his hands on Lopez, he will beat Lopez far easier than Gamboa.

Can you people realize that the Cubans have arrived? The party is over...:-(

Rigondeaux would have beaten JuanMa Lopez in his professional debut!
Gamboa is the future of professional boxing, and future P4P top 3 material 2-3 years from now! :good

After Gamboa beats Lopez, he will be long forgotten...The hype will be over.:scaredas:

i like the guy, but his last fight was very unconvincing to me. he's too vulnerable imo to be a future p4p player, his defense looks to leaky to me. maybe i'm being too much of a pessimist, but people have been waiting for gamboa to become more solid and more organised in his style, more professional. i haven't seen much of it.

Everything is coming along fine for the Cuban, by this year's end he will be WBA-IBF-WBC World Champion. Lopez will have no choice but to also turn in his WBO for Gamboa, just turn it in Lopez, might as well! :-(

    The Cubans have arrived... :good

I agree that Gamboa looked kinda different against Barrios. I really believe that Gamboa was just not into the fight nor interested in KO'ing Barrios. He looked too defensive ( something extremely rare for him ) but once he stepped it up just a little he knocked down Barrios in a hurry but was'nt interested at all in finishing him like he always is. I can't wait for his Sept 11 bout against Salido, to see his ferocious style back in action! :good

I think he knows his ferocious style leaves him open to get hit too much, which he's been able to get away with so far, but might not get away with against top-notch professionals. On the other hand, that recklessness is a part of his natural style, so i think what we saw in the Barros fight was a guy who was stylistically confused, and he seemed unsure of how to approach the fight. He needs to sort that **** out something quick, or he's gonna be in trouble as he moves up the ladder to fight the elite.
