NOw dont go putting words in my mouth:nono I never said he was on par with Gamboa in the speed department. I said that he has solid skills and decent speed. Gamboa is a speed demon but he can get reckless too and thats dangerous against a guy like Salido. Most likely Gamboa does win this but dont be surprised if he gets a scare o 2. An upset is a possiblility which many of you dont see.

I know you didn't say that homey, I'm saying that. Yeah if Gamboa makes a mistake like getting drawn into a brawl, he'll just be giving Salido a chance for that upset. But I highly doubt that chance will be given. That's all

speedy gonzalez had gamboa down, if he had that veteran mentality he probably could've had him outta there....now, salido dont have that speed, but he does have that veteran mentality that can get you thru a fight.....i'm just saying :good

Anarci, you seem to think that Gamboa leaves himself open a lot, which, if you watched his fight against Jonathon Victor Barros, his most recent fight, you would not think. Granted, you also have to take into account his previous performances, but his trainer has been working with him on his defense especially and the results have showed.

I saw Salido's fight against JMM, not much else and have drawn this conclusion: he is a very live opponent, can take punches, and throws back. However, sometimes he goes in, almost about to throw a big punch, but then thinks better of it and draws back in. If Gamboa sees this happening, it is a HUGE opening for him to take advantage of. His speed and explosiveness is much better than JMM's and he will be able to use that to his advantage.

If Salido can land a flush shot on Gamboa (which I maintain he won't), then yes, it will be interesting to see how he reacts. However, the overwhelming opinion of Gamboa is that he leaves himself open too much, and that is just not true. He has developed recently into a good defensive boxer when he wants to. In his most recent fight, he brought out the big guns in round 8 (in case you wanted to watch, it's on youtube), knocked down Barros, and then went back into fighting a smart, conservative fight. Towards the end, Barros went in and landed a few punches. I am intrigued to see if Salido will be able to do the same with Gamboa's blinding speed at the beginning of the fight as well. Because if not, as it is a televised fight and for unification, I don't think this will be as much of an experimental fight and he will go for the KO right away.

Gamboa takes this with a 4th round KO

Link to most recent fight in case people want to watch. It's in German, and you just keep on going to part 2, 3, etc.

Im gonna have to agree here with the mexicans.. yeah,Gamboa should win but if he didnt come ready or gets too cocky in the ring,he'll for sure visit the canvas,,, still he should win, probably by KO in late rds or UD... salido have been around for a while.

African boxers traditionally have been shown to be as tough as Mexican fighters. Perhaps even tougher, they are ****ing hard as nails.

I agree with you 100%. In Gamboa's last fight, he showed great defence and patience. He seemed to me like he did'nt want to KO Barros, and was trying out new defensive moves and tachtics. He has developed a lot lately and I don't feel that he is going to explode on Salido early on, but I can guarantee everyone here that when he does ( and he will ), he will not let Salido recuperate like when he did against Barros. Gamboa knows this is for the IBF Title, not a practice fight like against Barros!

I see Gamboa dictating a very fast but intelligent fight and letting the dogs out in mid fight and stopping Salido. :good

Salido can do it he throws a high amount of shots and so far sshows a strong chin gamboa has been down before and has never faced any body on salidos level

if salido can handle the speed then he can win
