Charles via decision he could box and had solid power one thing Loughran missed.

Wow. This is a great matchup and one I have not thought of before. Loughran for my money moved better and had the better left jab. However Charles forced the action, and was a fantastic in-fighter. This was Loughran's main weakness. I think Charles wins a close, but clear decsion.

Yes, this is why I like Charles :) Charles hit harder, and more skilled on the inside. If Loughran hit on par with other champions at light heavyweight, this this would be a pick em' type of match.

loughran had fantastic boxing skills but as previously stated lacked punching power.ezzard charles in my opinion was the greatest light heavy ever, combining speed, boxing skill,a solid chin and a great punch at light heavy.i don't see charles knocking loughran out but i do see a close perhaps split decision for charles.great post:happy

I'm gonna be a chicken on this one. Tommy takes a split decision, but has to get off the deck to do it.

I pick Charles. I think he's too strong and cagey.

Ezzard has slightly better skills, and would need every one of them to beat Tommy. He would probably take about 9 rounds en route to a close unanimous verdict.

these are the two of the very highest tier at 175 ever, Charles is actually one of the finest to do it period, regardless of weight

I like Charles, simply because I don't like people trying to outbox him in matador fashion pivoting around and landing jabs to counter and score, I think you're giving Charles an opportunity to take a look at you, size you up, and then launch all kinds of devastation on you from multiple angles.
