I really think that Dawson wasnt prepare for Pascal and that Pascal was very prepare for Dawson. Pascal just showed the world who he is, I'm happy for him and wish him well for the rest of his pro career. But I dont understand all the hate now for Dawson. He made a mistake, he wasnt at his best and just paid dearly for it. Why bashing the floored man?
Because he was clearly superior to Jean Pascal, but instead of dominating him like he should he just stared at him for 9 rounds.
his heart wasnt in the fight: biggest shot in his career to start finally making a name for himself with a Ring title and he ****s up
I agree but now, theres people saying now that he ducked Diaconnu, that he will be beaten by Hopkins and any other boxer in the business. It's like he was on top and now with one fight he is crap, I just cant understand that.
I mean how doesnt he throw his jab. He's had some **** strapped to his back for his camp strengthening his jab and he doesnt throw it.
The one sure thing is that Chad Dawson ain't no overrated talent. Pascal basically beat Dawson between the two ears. He got him thinking too much instead of displaying his skills.
Because he choked in the crunch. He could have been ring magazine light heavyweight champion, top 3 pound for pound, and all he had to do was beat a guy who was outboxed by Carl Froch. And he choked. He literally watched his title be taken.
that's why the hate is there american fans had huge expectations for dawson(some justified) and he absolutely failed to deliver upon them he was also a sore loser full of excuses after the fight and nobody likes that bull****. take your loss like a man.
Good point but Pascal didn't force him to not throw enough. Also, Chad always has been criticized for not pressing the action so I don't think it was an "off night" for him. Pascal beat him and saying stuff like "Oh Dawson wasn't at his best" is an excuse to me.
His fault. He has no one to blame but himself the better man won. Just shows you styles make fights. "The man outboxed by Froch" sure beat Dawson pretty decisively. He fought a dumb fight against Froch and that was at SMW. Still showed more heart than Dawson did last weekend.
Quite possible...although I do think Chad was in there to make a statement as he decided to press the action or come forward right from the start. Thing is...I don't think he expected Pascal to have speed as good or better as him. He didn't have an answer for those straight rights and quick spurts. I believe his intentions were good from the start, but Pascal indirectly screwed with his head once shots started landing. That combination of speed and power. Chad naturally fights safely in order not to get hit. When the guy decides to press and sees that his opponent has the speed to hit him at anytime...he hesitates to consistently open up.
