There's constructive criticism and there's just flat out being an *******. Which one do you think Sr. falls under?

    Old School No Bull**** category.

To tough for most of the younger generation to deal with.

You should have seen how my Father trained me in sports.
I F***g hated it but I had to acknowledge it made me better and the results were astonishingly quick.

Of course, some things just didn't work out because I didn't see eye to eye with how he went about things but the results, if obeyed, would have been positive.

I'm more of a person that needs positive reinforcement. However, I actually need both at the same time. Some others may be the same. Balance.

Old School?more like Old Fool,Eddie Futch or Ray Arcel didnt need to downgrade their fighters to get the best of them,Sr is garbage compared to those two thats why fighters never stay with him for long.

Old school, like how Sr. would rather stop for tacos and make Hatton wait during training camp? If I were you, I wouldn't project the relationship you had with your dad and sports onto a jerk like Sr. What you had with your old man, I wouldn't know but to guess it was a better and more caring relationship then getting stabbed in the back like Sr. does to whatever boxer he feels like at the moment.

True. But how many were like them?

It still comes down to knowledge and transferring that knowledge. Sr. has his way of things. I think it just may wear you down quick. Nobody wants to feel like a trained puppet.
That's where Roger came in. He let Jr. "live" and "breathe."

However, I do think Jr. started to slip somewhat at a certain point and it was Sr. who brought something back into play...like the Jab.

I would rather Sr. train me than some guy with a towel wrapped around his neck who calls himself a trainer but "don't know **** about boxing." Or even a guy that does, and is proven, but won't go all and tell you the truth. You can't sugar-coat things.
Of course, I would need a second in there because to much of Sr. would be a bad thing.
Even Jr. had enough of him and is keeping Roger at #1, and Sr. in the back.

Dawson looked bad in that fight because he did not step it up until late. There was many things he could have done but didn't do. Or maybe that's just him. He is what he is and it doesn't matter who trains him.

That's just unprofessional. Agree with that.

Sr. is a dick it seems. More about himself than anyone else. My Father wasn't like that. He used things to serve a purpose. In the end, it was about getting you to be your best even if he didn't tell it to your face. Results is how you found out about it.

With Sr., I think it is about getting you to be your best so he can take all the credit and say how damn good he is.
He is a guy that wants to be in the front. My Father wasn't like that.

    So agree with that.

Just saying, Sr. isn't all bad. He still has that knowledge. If a man is getting his ass kicked, you need to tell him why.
I don't agree with everything he does though. Some things are to old school and need to be updated.
Like running with army boots should be banned. Even the military doesn't do that because of how destructive it is for your feet.

It's hard to say what's what without seeing him train in person. So it's hard to judge.

I guess he tells his fighters they're in trouble, too, if they aren't doing good during training camp.

    Oscar liked working with him.:think

freddie roach is a great coach but you don't hear him cussing and talking **** to his fighters. if you listen to him in between rounds you'd almost think he's mumbling prayers to his fighter the way he speaks to them

Everything Floyd sr said is coming to fruition. He said that Chad Dawson was mentally weak. And we found that out against Pascal.

I mean Andre Dirrell is my second favorite fighter just behind Mayweather. Yet I know he's nowhere near as physically gifted as Chad Dawson. Yet he's not just gonna stand there and let an inferior fighter beat on him for 9 rounds without responding.

    This was during training.

Also, who do you think has the better knowledge of defensive boxing...Roach or Sr. ?

    Now Let's go back:

    My response:

For Sr: Does he yell at his fighters during fights?
If so, given me a fight.

Did he yell at Chad during training camp?

What was Chad not doing that Floyd wanted him to do?

And because he was not doing something, what was happening to him?

What could get Chad to do what Floyd wanted him to do?

How did Chad look in this last fight. Could he have done more?
Could he have stepped on the gas earlier?

Read the words to the interview.

Maybe if Chad was as nasty as Sr, maybe if Chad allowed some of that to rub off on him, he would have attacked Pascal earlier instead of staying calm and doing whatever the hell he thought he was doing on his way to a wide UD loss.

Are boxing trainers softer then football coaches?

My football coach would straight up tell you if you were ****ing around and not doing something right. This usually came with alot of expletives and yelling.

Boxing is far more serious. You dont move your head, you could actually die. If Dawson is getting beat up by Andre Dirrell, whats senior supposed to say. "Aww dont worry kid, you'll get em next time"
