Belle Vue in Manchester had some great domestic battles in the 60's and 70's...:yep

It has more recently been used for Speedway and Greyhounds...:yep

Was the scene of the following:

    Hagler vs Hearns
    Bowe vs Golota II
    Lewis vs Rahman II
    Khan vs Prescott
    Chavez vs Taylor

All between 10.30 & closing time on a typical Saturday night :yep

Thomas a Beckett is a real famous one but I think Lawless fighters trained at the Royal Oak
Other famous ones in the 60's were the Load of Hay and the Butchers Arms in York Way

    GREAT THREAD !!!

Of all the small gyms i saw locally, (Aberdeen) i loved how it was above a bar/pub.........havent read the thread yet but am sure it has some tasty insights and is a folklore kinda thing.

Even the Bar/Gym scenario......if ya get me.....is so easy for some, as has been shown and known....to end up downstairs......even the best.

If you havent dished up yet, please do, great insight :thumbsup

Cheers guys - I'll get all of these added to the database over the next few days.

HairyHighlander - the Real Fight Club in London has a pub underneath it.

    Beautiful building !
Shoreditch Town Hall also has a great interior. You can see it on September 18th when the London Ex Boxers association have a reunion there. Think there are also boxing matches too
