Paddy any names floating about for McCloskey or will it be a rematch with Lauri? I would love to see him step up and away from the Euro level now and go for a World title elminator fight at least instead maybe even a fight with Juan Urango it would be a decent name for McCloskey to have on his CV.

It almost certainly won't be a rematch with Lauri, the Italians will wait till the purse bids are brought up for that fight in the hopes of getting it in Italy. I'd be shocked if they agreed to a deal that enabled the fight to happen quicker, that just wouldn't be ****ish enough of them.

RTE logo is on the press release saying the presser is tomorrow in Derry! read what you will into that..

on another stirring note- Jing Jang Jung beer is back as a sponsor- strange Hunky Dory are only interested in sponsoring Kiko's fight??? maybe they are looking to reunite with an old pal down the road???

Its definately a european title defense so that rules out Juan Urango and Paulie Malignaggi

If i was a betting man I would put my money on Gavin Rees

as the number one ranked contender is fighting a WBC eliminator and Rees is ranked two plus he was on Pauls last undercard

here are the ranks you can have a look for yourself!

Don't think Paul will be over the moon about Rees... He told me at the end of June that he wouldn't be fighting either Rees or Daws when I asked him about his next opponent, because he needed to push on with his career.

Not many decent names at 140 in Europe- outside of Kotelnik. So it would have to be a UK fighter. Don't think Rees is signed with anybody so it would be easy to make that fight and he destroyed that Amoako guy the last time.
Amoako gave Lee McAllister his fill of it in glasgow- according to my mates who were at that fight to see paul mcelhinney(sub who willie casey beat in prizefighter) who was on the undercard.

Wouldn't be surprised if this fight is in magherafelt again even though all these fights planned for belfast have not come off- except ulster hall bills of course.

A friend of mine saw him training with the waterford hurlers and he said that the next time he will be near a ring is when my friends kid is boxing!
