Now...is it just me...or is beating Victor Ortiz the ONLY reason we know about Maidana today and how he is such a powerful fighter in the 140 division? Maybe I concentrated more on the Welterweight division at the time but I honestly never really knew about the guy before the Ortiz fight. But now i see so much hate on Ortiz because he was basically undefeated and prospect of the year, etc. and got beat by maidana. It's just interesting how many people have maidana so up high on their list because of the Ortiz fight, while Ortiz gets so much hate, when I only knew of Maidana because he fought Ortiz, who was the attraction and who was expected to win that night :think Maidana was basically his only loss to date, and he did floor him three times, and he was a mere 22 years old at the time...and he IS 4-0 (3) since the maidana fight. I think he deserves a lot more credit than he is given. He would do well and would give Khan a lot of problems...

Maidana also beat the other guy after Ortiz that was ranked if im not mistaken. I cant think of his name.... He was a slick kid and Maidana looked impressive there so i think thats why he is hyped. I mean the kid has raw power with speed and heart.
Thats just a recipe for a fan friendly fighter. I really like the guy now.

Ortiz i think will only be getting better and like i have said wouldnt be surprised if he rose to the top. There is just question marks about his heart. The only way we will know is if/when he gets in trouble. How will he react?
