Manny "MONEY" Pacquiao wants $ 22.5 MILLION Guaranteed for Margarito.
It has been reported by several sources that Pacquiao has demanded Bob Arum guarantee him more money than Floyd Mayweather got against Shane Mosley in May. Which According to contracts filled with The Nevada Athletic Commission was $22,500,000.
Manny "MONEY" Pacquiao wants to become the highest paid fighter in boxing, and he is now demanding Bob Arum make it happen for the Margarito fight.
According to numerous reports, Manny is asking for one dollar more Guaranteed Money than what Mayweather receive for Mosley which would be
    $22,500,001.
Which now the question has to be asked, Why is Manny Pacquiao so concerned about making the exact amount Mayweather made for his last fight against Mosley, better yet he wants 1 dollar more.
Based on Pacquiao previous Guaranteed Purses, His demand of $22,500,001.
    Dollars should be considered absurd.
Because as showed the figures below, he is only averaging $ 7.16 Million guranteed in his last 6 fights, and his highest Guaranteed Purse was $12 Million according to most reports.

Remind you that, in order for HBO and Top Rank to break even on that request Manny vs. Margarito would have to at least hit 1.2 Million buys which would probably net $54 Million in PPV revenue, and his gate would have to exceed $10 Million dollars.
    Question of the Thread

So the question now is, do you guys think Manny is justifed in his request of a guarantee of $22,500,001 million dollars against Margarito considering his past Fight Revenue income generated?
    Manny Pacquiao Guaranteed Purses:
Pacquiao $12 Million vs. Clottey $1.5 Million
Pacquiao $7.5 million vs. Miguel Cotto $4 Million
Pacquiao $12 million vs. Ricky Hatton $11 Million
Pacquiao $6 Million vs. De la Hoya $20 Million
Pacquiao $3 million vs. David Diaz 800k
Pacquiao $2.5 Million vs. Juan Manuel Marquez 2 $500
Pacquiao $650.000 vs Juan Manuel Marquez $500k

Let's see what Bob Arums thinks about this..
    :cool2:

Because if Arum denies Pacquiao's request he is basically telling Pacquiao he is not a big of draw as Mayweather, and therefore undercutting his argument that Pacquiao deserves 50% against Mayweather.

Remember Arum said Pacquiao is a bigger draw than Ali, but Arum doesnt want to pay him like Ali

I can not help but believe that Pacquiao saw the contract on Mayweather's twitter page and was like
"WTF" why isnt Bob Arum guaranteeing me $25 Million per fight !!!

    real talk.

Mayweather making $22.5 on guaranteed money alone, plus PPV money, for the Mosley fight which netted him $40 according to every report must have had team Pacquiao rethinking their business model.

Pacman, wants so BAD to be Money Mayweather. That's the sum of money Money May got in his fight with Mosley. Getting 8-10 million for this crap fight is being overly generous.

I can not wait to see how Bob Arum Handles this situation

Because Arum is not taking a gamble putting Pac in the ring with Margs if Pacquiao accepts less money. Because Arum would net a profit because the fight would be in house.

But if he has to guaranteed Pacquiao $22.5 Million than Arum is taking a HUGE gamble putting Pacquiao in the ring with Margs..

because he will lose so much money if the fight doesnt do huged numbers on PPV and at the Gate.

It's about how much money the fight will generate. Everyone knew Mosley/May would do over a million buys so the purse was set as 30MM plus PPV percentages if over 1.2MM.

Pac/Margo has nowhere near the interest of Mayweather/Mosley and I'm sure 22MM is more than the current combined purse established for both fighters.

Pac is dreaming if he thinks he can get a 22.5MM guarantee for fighting Margo. Is Pac having second thoughts? I smell duck.

Well Pacquiao is finally starting to wake up after Seeing Mayweather get guaranteed $22.5 Million for Mosley + PPV+Gate..Which got Mayweather $40 Million dollars.

Arum has been telling Pacquiao and the media that he is the biggest draw ever even bigger than Ali, and now Pacquiao is telling Arum well pay me like the biggest draw ever !!!
    Classic...
I can not wait to see how Arum handles this.!!

Who gives a ****! Pac needs to get away from Arum, right? So maybe this is the first step to all that. And then maybe Pac can fight the guys you want him to? So what's the ****ing problem?

Can't knock the man for trying! And if it's feasible then he should get it! This is funny b/c this is obvious Manny is trying to get under Floyd's skin by besting Floyd OUT of the ring since Floyd is reluctant to face Pac in it....with what Floyd considers the end all, be all...which is MONEY, Floyd is surely gonna have something to say about it. And may get him motivated enough to face him in the ring.! If Manny gets that gurantee and he beats Floyd for hte largest Gurantee purse Floyd is gonna be PISSED! And it's only by a measly buck!
