According to SI Floyd is the 2nd or 3rd highest paid athlete.

    That's a pretty good source.

It is higher than Pacquiao's normal guarantee by quite a bit but I think Arum can afford it. He is getting a large site fee from the venue which I assume will be Cowboy's stadium plus takes about 50% of the total PPV revenues. You add in a live gate with 60K+ tickets sold and television rights/sponsors and Arum will still make out after paying the purses of both fighters since he does not have to share any of it with another promoter.

its obvious manny wants more leverage, if negotiations ever start up again against mayweather he can say well i make just as much money as u do or more im the super star i this sport right now. but frankly dont think it will happen not because manny isnt a great fighter but because its against margarito the guy just came off of a lack luster performance and previous to that got ktfo! and it's in mex if we in the US are struggling to scrap up 50 or 60 bucks just to watch a ppv at home what makes arum think people in mexico have the $$$ to go and buy a seat??

this is funny? especially for an obvious pac fan like yourself? the man who fights for pride and honor is making ridiculous money demands....and this is why arum is forced to make two shitty fights in a row...and u think its funny? desperate attempt to keep up with floyd if you ask me....which he wont do....this will be a big gamble for arum...one in which the odds are not in his favor......this may lead to an unraveling between arum and pac when arum loses money....this fight wont touch floyd/shane.....pacs team may not like the results...and may not like to hear what arum will have to say if he loses money on this fight.....may be similar how floyd reacted to arum when he put him in the mgm to prove to him he couldnt fill the place....this be catastrophic for pac/arum if arum loses money and the ppv doesnt do as well as floyds....floyd and king would take them to the woodshed at the table

Because he's not the #1 fighter in the sport and the money is not there for a Margarito fight.

How is it ridiculous when Mayweather just made that money with Mosley?
Bob Arum tells everybody that Pac is the biggest draw ever, even bigger than Ali..

So why cant he pay Pacquiao like the biggest draw ever?:thumbsup
