He made 22 Million against Cotto and I don't think the Margarito fight will generate more revenue.

But then again, Pac will probably get a bigger percentage. So he could end up making a bigger purse.

If he is asking for 22.5M + GUARANTEED it could be cause Bob Arum keeps telling Pac that the Margo fight is the biggest fight and the one that will make the most money, so this could be Pac's way of saying : If this fight is as big as you say it is, put your money where your mouth is.

LOL I don't think Pacquiao gives a **** if Arum rips him to pieces.

Arum works for Pacquiao, not the other way around. Pacquiao is Arum's client.

I'm talking about how much money he made which was 22Million for the Cotto fight.

If Arum is telling Pac that he will make more money against Margo than he's ever made before, then Pac could be telling Arum "I don't agree with you but if you're so sure, give me a 22.5M$ Guarantee."

Arum is under contract too. A contract goes both ways.

Arum works for Pacquiao as his promoter. His job is to promote Pacquiao's fights so that they generate more revenue. He gets paid to do his job, and in the end Pacquiao makes more money than if there was noone there to promote his fights.

If Pacquiao thought he or someone else could do a better job than Arum at promoting his own fights, he wouldn't have signed a contract with Arum.

Paying someone for services rendered is not "getting raped for your money". Its called business.

Do you think Al Haymon works for free?

BOB ARUM: Well, I think he’s (Mayweather) probably at his most marketable up to now, but I think it’s just starting. I think that the public now is beginning to appreciate this man’s talent and as the most talented fighter in the world, he will be in the position to be the biggest attraction and make the most money. I think one thing will naturally follow the other and as long as he – as he said, is cooperative with the media, knows and understands promotion, the sky is the limit.
I really believe that before he’s (Mayweather) finished, he will earn more money than any fighter in the history of boxing.

Bob Arum Calls Mayweather Jr. "Delusional," Says No Way Will He Get Even A 50/50 Purse Split For Pacquiao Fight"You can tell Floyd Mayweather that Bob Arum says he's delusional," Arum said. "Floyd is not the attraction. Manny is the attraction. Floyd's got no idea what he's talking about. Floyd must be hallucinating when he said he wants the bigger purse and wouldn't agree to a 50/50 split. Even a 50/50 split with Floyd Mayweather is nonsense."

BOB ARUM, CHAIRMAN, TOP RANK: I want to welcome you to this conference call. It’s really a pleasure as we get down to crunch time. We have the best fighter in the world, “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather, on this call. Floyd, I know, can’t wait for April 8th to show everybody once again how truly talented he is. In my opinion, yesterday [March 29, 1966 - Ali v. Chuvalo] was my 40th year in boxing and “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather, next to the early Muhammad Ali, is the best fighter that I’ve ever seen..

Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter, called him "the best fighter I've ever seen," a high compliment from a man who also promoted Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard -- and Floyd Mayweather.

Bob Arum: Pacquiao is the biggest draw in the sport, bigger than Ali, Bigger than floyd we want 50/50!!

Pacquiao: Well **** if that is true, Pay me like the biggest draw in the sport!!.

Now Bob Arum has to back up his words, and we see how he really feels about Pacquiao!!

So according to Arum, who has worked with all three, Pac > Ali > Floyd.

Not saying its true but for Arum to say that about Pac is pretty amazing.

C'mon man i know they dont work for free...what im sayin is when manny did try to get out under top rank arum bitched his ass right back in...

WHATEVER THE CASE (SINCE IN THIS ARGUMENT ARUM NOW WORKS FOR MANNY) ARUM IS WAY OVER PAID BY MANNY PACQUIAO..PAC SHOULD DEMAND ARUM TO QUIT TAKING SO MUCH OF HIS MONEY SINCE ARUM WORKS FOR MANNY AND NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND...

How do you know Arum is overpaid? You think cause Floyd was giving Arum 37% that Pacquiao is necessarily on the same contract? Doesn't work like that.

Arum saw Pac was gonna go to GBP and did whatever he could to keep Pac happy and with Top Rank... Like a management firm does for a superstar athlete.

I think Manny was counting on fighting Mayweather and doesn't like that it didn't happen. Manny was telling the media this entire year that he wants that fight, so to me it just sounds like he really was counting on that money. Maybe he's mad that Arum fast balled everyone and the media with that deadline bull**** and just sprung the Margarito fight on him which would make less money for him.
