Actually thought it was a good fight! Really enjoyed it. The middleweight division is warming up nicely. Where you see both of them going now?

got jacobs in my stars of the future team so hope he can bounce back with some solids wins. hopefully Pirog gets in some big fights, maybe sturm or some1 like that. wonder if macklin will get a shot IF he gets past Barker, there was talk of him fighting jacobs if he won the WBO

I wouldn't be surprised if Pavlik v Pirog happened. The fight would sell and I imagine Pirog would fancy his chances. Or maybe Pirog could look back to Europe. Winner of Barker/Macklin perhaps?

I think Jacobs will take a step back, he is only a young fella so he;ll probably go back to fighting guys like Ishe Smith for another 2 or 3 fights at least.

The middleweight division definitely seems to be on the up, with all these young prospects finally coming through to the top levels. Pirog looked very good against Jacobs and I think he will be a force in the division. I'm sure Jacobs will be back and will hang around the top of the division. There's no shame in losing to Pirog imo.

Along with those two, guys like Golovkin, Guerrero and N'jikam will be coming through very soon (Golovkin already holds an interim belt). In fact I think Golovkin and N'dam N'jikam are mean to be facing each other soon for the WBA belt. Out of those I'm expecting big things of Golovkin. Course it helps that he's in my Stars of the Future team. Along with Pirog actually.:yep

The winner of Barker vs Macklin should have little problem getting a shot a Pirog. Sylvester and Sturm and Martinez will be all tied up until next year.

It was a good fight. It was the first time i'd seen Pirog and its hard to tell whither he's particularly good or if Jacobs is pretty mediocre . I've seen Jacobs a few times on undercards and was never hugely impressed. Much of Jacobs impressive KO percentage was against absoloute tomato cans .
I suspect Pirog will probably fight Pavlik and KP will beat him and get his hands back on a belt and jacobs will never be a top world class fighter .

Id go along with that but Pirog is still a good fighter. Jacobs has many flaws although below average power, poor stamina, poor defence, backs up in straight lines and a suspected poor chin, just cant see him ever fixing all those problems.
The thing is Pavlik is a massive light heavy who by some crazy ability is able to make 160lbs . You put pavlik in with any of the super 6 or an light heavy weight and you will see how limited the hype job is. If pavlik cant over power his opponents hes useless.
I hope pirog takes the clumsy **** to school.

What are Sylvester and Sturm tied up with, avoiding the rest of the division?
