A real possibility for the super six

    Andre Dirrell and Andre Ward dont end up fighting because it kind of makes sense for both of them.

    I dont believe a dates been set yet,

    their friends,

    this fights probably the biggest concievable threat to Ward( from a great deal of peoples point of view, probably including his camp)

    Wards through

    Dirrells on a high could leave the tourney without risking another L.

    That basically would leave this round of the tounement pointless and unfair to the other fighters.

    if they dont fight the current table would be sufficient to make up the semis.

    I hope they do fight.... thoughts

    They have to fight, there under contract are they not? It's not like Taylor pulling out due to risking his health these two would need a better reason than ''were friends.''

    yh i kno but if both camps agreed, boxing is a fikkle thing. at the end of the day contracts only paer and who would persue the matter if say sum 1 were to have a bogus injury and it was put forth as the sane option.

    I don't see them not fighting each other under any circumstance unless there is a legitimate un-faked injury (ie a piano falls on Dirrell).

    You mean they need to set a venue. I'm pretty sure they're doing a split-location double header on September 25th.

    Being friends is hardly ever an obstacle to two boxers getting in the ring - it just usually means a bad fight (see Guerrero-Casamayor most recently) - which we were all afraid Ward vs. Dirrell would be anyway, even if they were strangers. :yep

    No, I don't want to think about this possibility because it ****ing sucks. No, it doesn't make sense for them or the tournament. It's the worst possible thing that could happen, aside from everyone else deciding that they don't need to fight either. These rumors about the fight not happening should die a swift and painless death immediately.

    I dont want it, and its **** for the tounrey.

    But i belive it does make some degree of sense for their camps. Im begging it doesnt happen

    this thread is wholly premised on awful and baseless, personal speculation....

    there is ZERO reason for them NOT to fight. They're not even best friends! If the poster cares to educate himself on Wards' views on his fight with Dirrell, there is a streaming interview available on ESB....
