I always said if Holmes had a different personality, a less blunt personality, people would've given him the respect he deserved. It shouldn't matter, but I think that made all the difference. Although I'm not saying he's the same level, I thought Michael Moorer too. Would've gotten a lot more credit if he were a media-friendly guy.

Holmes got no respect because of Ali. People felt like Holmes was trying to copy Ali. I have always said had there not been an Ali we would be calling Holmes The Greatest. Holmes was angry because he was always being compared to Ali and he was hated by some for beating The Greatest up.

 

Now, imagine if he walked around like second-career Foreman with a smile plastered on his face and a bow tie and a bible and tell me he wouldn't have had more support. Tell me then there would've been the massive racial dung heap with Cooney if that were his persona. He also would've dodged the Marciano jock strap controversy. Etc.

Vlad should be higher than 10! Compare Vlad with Dawson. Dawson hardly ever fought, when he did it was against the oldest fighters he could find. Dawson is boring as Hell.

 

HWs generally don't do well in P4P list.

In this case, they got it wrong. A fighter that so largely relies on his size, height, weight, and reach isn't P4P material... sorry.

Unless P4P is just the best active boxers (Without actually pitting a HW with a FW) then fine. But P4P in the literal sense of the word neither K brothers belong. And that's not hate, it's just truth.

Vlad is an extremely skilled fighter. Vlad won the gold medal in superheavyweight division!!!!!!! Vlad won the world military championships, he won the International title. Great amateur record at superheavyweight!!!!!!!

He's one of the 3 most dominant fighters in the sport today. I'd say they've already punished him for the things you mentioned by just now putting him at #10.

It was getting downright comical how long they were putting inferior, less accomplished fighters over him for just that reason. They still are, but at least #10's a start.

 

I don't think you've quite the same understanding of P4P as I do. Then again, I said if it's not what I was thinking then that's completely fine and Wlad is very worthy. Otherwise, he isn't.

I knew people would just respond in a knee-jerk sort of fashion without actually having understanding the point.
