What a knob - so you have no problem with Barry fighting for a Celtic or Scottish Title eh ? just as well you have not got that power you fool - fighting novices what purpose would that serve anyone - let's leave the matchmaking to the people who do this for a living - at least that way you wont have to be subjected to rushing home from work as not to miss any substandard boxers .

It's maybe just as well that idiots like you sit behind the safety of your computer screens and type in as much shite as you can muster - god forbid that you could influence matchmaking - just stick to what you know best - SHITE TALKING -

Please dont bother to respond to this , as life's too short to spend any more time reasoning with a sarcastic, immature, simpleton like yourself - lets just hope that the shocking pointless fight has the expected outcome for you otherwise I would expect no more than you to keep your rather large opinionated and disrespecful mouth firmly closed and to do the decent thing as to retire from the forum and let people who are less obnoxious contribute.

    LATER:hi:

Morrison is obviously capable but it's a worrying trend that a win over a low level journeyman like Billy Smith after a KO loss to Daws - which in itself looks bad - gets you a shot at the European title.

Not a single notable win in nearly 4 years.

As for McCloskey - he's kinda between a rock and a hard place..... a rematch with Lauri is pointless for a start, the top liners are looking at fights with each other.

As an 8 round, non-title stay busy it would be alright.... but this is supposedly a major title, and as such, the fight is ****.

Hopefully Sky do as they promised and get the red card out, or at least make sure it's an undercard bout.

Wont be on sky.... Matchroom's options on McCloskey are up

    I'm very disapointed by this

I was expecting somewhat of a stiffer challange... I know Paul will be disapointed with this too

Of coruse I have no problem with Morrison boxing for a Scottish or Celtic title, as thats the level he belongs at.

If Morrison beats McCloskey, I will leave the forum. Infact I will setup a Betfair account and give you 10-1 odds on Morrison winning for a bet of £1,000? That means you would win £10,000......

Who is in charge of McCloskey's affairs?

This is a brian peters bill on RTE but peters was always involved with mccloskey I think, even throughout the matchroom deal.

Personally Gavin Rees I know hes moving to lightweight but he could be tempted by the Lure of the euro title

He fought on Pauls last card so that and his prizefighter win would ensure some of the casual fans would be familiar with him

not to mention hes ranked in the top 15 of the WBO...

The prospect of you leaving the forum would be sufficient thanks - no need to turn bookmaker as this may only lead to confusion in your other specialist fields such as matchmaker - trainer - promoter - manager - tv programmer - etc etc etc.

Its nothing personal against Morrison he'd be stupid to turn down a fight with McCloskey

But the fact remains he was the lowest ranked fighter

Judging by his performance I'd suggest testing for enhancement drugs was completely unnecessary :yep

My issue is not with the overall rankings or the suitability of opponents - It's the stupid comments coming from people who are supposed to know about the noble art.
I'm not going to sit here and make fanciful statements of who wins and why, but I think that anyone who is being considered competent enough to challenge for a European title must deserve a level of respect. If the individual's making silly statements were a little more involved in the sport instead of just throwing opinions then the disrespectful attitudes may vanish .
