southpaw vs orthodox usually has accidental butts, this wont be the first and it wont be the last. truth is, pascal had easily won 7 rounds by that point. plus he has never been floored in his career (including amatuer and sparring if you believe his own claims) plus dawson has never, i repeat never, stopped a top 20 rated opponent. i think it is safe to say pascal won the fight, and would have won the fight.

that being said, i thought it was an exciting fight, and the butt has caused enough controversy to warrant a rematch, so in the end it has been a good thing.

I think Pascal won hands down, I also believe the head butt was not intentional. Dawson needs to get a different trainer and re-evaluate his desire to fight. I just don't see Dawson having the ability to dig deep when he needs to. The only reason he almost Ko'd Pascal was because Pascal was gassed out.

 

You can't do that. It would be cheating and all in all, much worse then the doctor making a judgement call about the cut.

the worst part is that Pascal was coming off a serious shoulder injury and will probably be even BETTER in the rematch.

Anyways, from that video it looks like Dawson was the one ramming in with his head, and Pascal just dipped his head down to protect himself. It was a smart move by Pascal, worthy of a veteran. Dawson didn't protect himself.

 

Yep, looked like to me Dawson came in swinging head first.

I agree that the ref should've let it continue and Pascal should've been given the opportunity to knock his challenger out.

 

why are you laughing. I don't know if you were there but I was and Dawson was completely spent after he threw everything he had in the first 30 seconds. After Pascal ducked under and out of the way he motioned at Dawson to bring it on. Dawson even landed his biggest punch of the fight after that and Pascal took it well and when Dawson tried to follow up, he got countered.
