Despaigne literally leaves Paines spinning in circles as he dances around him and pops him with jabs and lead overhand rights followed by check hooks. Paines comes charging in with uppercuts and winds up running right into the ropes as Despaigne easily slips out of the way. Paines follows and looks to be frustrated with Despaigne not engaging. They come forward into a clinch and Despaigne's shoulder lands hard on Painse' chin. Paines sizes Despaigne up and suddenly eats a leaping hook through his guard. They clinch as is customary in the final thirty seconds of a round in this fight.

Round 7

Despaigne is still boxing donuts around Paines despite the cut. Paines lands a punch or two a minute, mostly to the body, and usually while falling into a clinch. Despaigne jabs, feints, fakes a step back, and has Paines generally jumping at shadows. Despaigne drops his hands, bends casually back at the waist and floats away from a Paines hook.

 

Round 8

Paines steps in with a body jab. Despaigne rolls and counters as Paines walks after him and wastes time sizing him up for an opening that isn't there. Paines jabs and shrugs at Despaigne. In response Despaigne DOUBLE PUNCHES a'la Emanuel Augustus and then converts it into a shrug of his own. :rofl Paines keeps coming forward and they clinch whenever Despaigne stops on a dime to come forward himself before Paines can put his own brakes on. Despaigne steps forward and then to the left (like a chess knight) and lands an uppercut and a hook in combination. Again. Paines keeps falling for the same combo, crazy.
