mmmm if 10 is "when we were kings" and 1 is "any interview with david haye talking about the klitchkos".....I would give it aaaaaaaa 7.8. George chavallo was THE best part of this movie

They could've mentioned it I guess, but it's a documentary built around new interviews with the fighters who faced Ali. Berbick is dead. So that's that.

I'd give it a 10 out of 10. I loved it. The interviews are great, the direction and theme is great, it's executed well with a decent production value. Most of all, every single guy interviewed is a truly interesting and unique character. How about Ron Lyle? Leon Spinks is god damn ridiculous. Everybody shines. Highly recommended.

I watched Leon defeat the over-the-hill Ali and saw the exuberance he displayed after the fight.

Kinda sad to see him now.

    What the **** happened ????

As to OP question, great adaptation of Stephen Brunt's great book.

good point, the book was BRILLIANT

as boggle said, spinks was a highlight. especially his story about farting when he won the title:lol: he still seems like a lucky, cocaine addicted ****ing who won against the greatest heavy ever

it's up there with thrilla in manilla for me. when we were kings was a little dissapointing. the final round (the chuvalo story) told everything that george did in this one but with more detail and was just as good.

the best boxing documentary i've ever seen is tyson's beyond the glory. WAAAAAAAY better than the tyson movie. tear jerking, brilliant film

It was amazing and I liked the part when Norton was walking into the basketball Gymnasium. The accident he had was bad and its good to see him still living and going on.

i've heard the story about ali visiting him a bunch of times. he apparently woke up and ali did magic for him. he didn't remember ali at all but that didn't stop him from doing tricks for another hour. when norton asked who he was ali said something to the effect of "we're old friends".

On a scale of 1-10 the documentary as a whole gets a solid 8.5, maybe even a 9. Chuvalo gets a 53. He stole the show!

Chuvalo was OK but he still claims that Ali didnt really beat him that bad but Ali was just messing around with that guy. Ali couldnt get mad at the guy because the Canadians were so nice to him that he couldnt be his usual talkative self when he was there. It was just another nights work for him. Chuvalo was a good boxer, but when a guy who is fighting you is grabbing the back of your head and telling you to hit him harder over and over, you're out of his league. I just just wish Chuvalo would admit that just once.
