I just finished watching Erislandy Lara fight on Wenesday Night Fights. Yes, his opponent was not great, in fact he was probably low b level high c level fighter. However having seen Lara fight before, seeing his skilss, punching accuracy, deceptive speed and power I am high on him. He seems to have the most findament skills of all the current crop of cubans, maybe except for guillermo Rigondeaux. However at the end of his fight ESPN put a the Rings Rated top 10 Jr. Middleweights and teddy atlas said he woulp pick Lara against everyone from 6-10 except the kid who just beat Jacobs. HE EVEN SAID COTTO IS SHOT AND HE THINS LARA COULD BEAT HIM. I like Lara alot but i think he needs more fights under his belt. Do ou think Lara is ready for ring rated top 10 and is he ready for cotto?

Lara just needs a better experienced trainer if he wants to face the top guys.

These Cuban fighters have anywhere between 300-500 amateur fights. So, when they turn pro you will see very good skills from them. I think Lara is ready to fight top 10 guys.

I think Lara got a chance against Cotto. Let's face it Cotto is small for 154 to begin with. The fight between Margo, Clottey and Pac has really taken alot out from him. And to top it off his face is prone to cuts.

If Lara can keep a good distance and fight Cotto from the outside, he's got it.

He so far is the Cuban I am highest on. Looking at 154 I think he will chomping on the top 10 very soon. I think he has a better style suited to the pros than rigondeaux. I fully expect him to have a belt by end of next year.
