Could it be that the local subset of the nuthugger (nuttious hugianus), the Mundine nuthugger (nuttious chocoholic), has been reduced to an endangered, or worse still, extinct species?

Previously seen in plentiful numbers at ESB, and usually found congragating in small packs, there has barely been a peep heard from the species since June 30th.

Could it be that the Mundine nuthugger has gone the way of the Dinosaur, the Tasmanian Tiger and the Dodo Bird?

Absolutely, and part of the reason I dug this thread out again.

Most of the ridiculous parochialism and stupid arguments have stopped.

They got rid of us Colonials hundreds of years ago. Why on earth would they suddenly want us back?

I always thought the existance of the 'Dopey Mundine Nuthugger Yeti' signified the re-birth of complete Dodo's...

Let's all hope the species is never heard of again, as the animal deserves sub-fossilization respect. T'was a beast with no brain anyway.

Starting to look like a job for David Attenborough - but it may already be too late!

....from the lack of recent sighting, extinction looks the likely scenario.

With Meehan v Evans now out of the way, Mundine v Waters is the next scheduled 'big' local fight.

Will be interesting to see if there's any enthusiam whatsoever for this fight now - there certainly hasn't been any for weeks & weeks.
