I thought they'd be going for Nevada anyway, because Pacman was such a big attraction for Vegas

He'll get a licence in Texas. That's where Bob wants it anyway

Margarito already applied for a licence in Nevada. It got rejected, they said only if hes reinstated in California so that was the reason for this.

Sadly true but at least at will do a fair amount of damage to the credibility of this fight, Margarito and Top Rank.

I think he's being made a scapegoat. Mosley, Toney, RJJ tested positive for steriods and no one gives a ****. This guy had something in his gloves that shouldn't have being there and he's rightly vilified for it but there's no consistency amongst boxing fans and journalists. With James Toney, Shane Mosley it's like "oh, they did drugs once upon a time, yeah..." With Margarito the reaction is "hang the *******!!!"

In both instances the guilty fighters put their opponents at increased risk. The steps they took could have seriously injured their opponents. But Mosley and Toney are given a free pass whilst Margarito is still being punished for his mistake.

Anyway, will Texas even license Margo after this? Nevada told him to go to California, California have now said know..so will Texas defy the other States?

You know it is really hard to know if he himself was guilty as in was he in on it or did his trainer do it on the sly. I personally find it hard to believe a boxer could not know what substance was on the wraps or that it was dodgey. Especially someone of his experience. Can anyone tell me how you could not know as a boxer!

i think as a fighter you have alort more on your mind an hour before your fight than your wraps. that should be left to your cornerman who you should have full trust in that they will be ok. nobody will ever know definatively, if he knew or not. but it is possible he trusted this guy and did not know. they check the wraps before every fight so i don't see how they would have got away with this in any other fights without being caught. everybody deserves a second chance don't they?

Hopefully Texas don't license him either. They didn't for the March fight, I believe.

I think you're right, Margarito was on the card when I saw it on boxrec, a week later it was gone.

For potentially hurting another fighter he can go **** himself. Margo is lucky he has a crooked promoter willing to use him to make more money.

lots of people don't seem to realise that it may not be margaritos fault. i have been at profesional boxing dressing rooms and have seen the boxers speaking to their coaches whilst the 2nd man does the wraps. it is more than possible he didn't know.

and yes people deserve a second chance, people using ped's get a second chance
