Lennox Lewis was being accused of ducking, and so he finally had to fight one of the Klitschkos. With the shrewd Emanuel Steward at his side, he carefully chose to fight Vitali, who punches slower and therefore easier to avoid. Vitali is also easier to hit with a stright punch, because he doesn't move his head left and right (only backward). Watch Vitali vs Hoffman, where Hoffman landed straight punches all night. Then imagine Wlad in Hoffman's place.
No.... Vitali was ranked No2 by the WBC and Lennox was scheduled to fight Kirk Johnson as mandatory... kirk Johnson pulled out so Lennox fought the No2 ranked as replacement... no hand picking going on there. Wlad wasn't as highly ranked as his brother back then and in my opinion not as good as his brother back then neither. In fact 3 months previous to Lennox fighting Vitali, Wlad was knocked out in 2 rounds by Corrie Sanders
Vitali KTFO of Wlad every time.... both are immensely overrated though, but suppose we've had that argument on here far too much
Out of interest Jisi... which one of your heroes would you pick in a prime v prime fight between the 2?
Thanks CHEF, I know you're the biggest Wlad expert on ESB. I feel that Vitali is overrated H2H, but Wlad is underrated H2H.
I voted for Vitali prime for prime. But at this present time i reckon Wlad could beat the fading older brother...
I have seen both up close since i work for both... I totally agree with you about Wlad. dont get me wrong... Vitali is a bad ass!!! BUT IMO Wlad has more skills and that will get him the win in the later rounds
So are you actually a Chef for the Klitschko brothers? I have nothing against Vitali, I just wouldn't put him in the top 20 H2H heavyweights of all time, whereas Wlad deserves a top 15 spot in my eyes.
