And that's not his knock out ratio; that's the win/loss ratio of his last six opponents including the upcoming Briggs.

On that list was the undefeated Arreola, undefeated mandatory Gomez, undefeated Johnson and "Vitali has been retired for 4 year Peter will KTFO him" (Yes; I remember that ESB - the majority of you said it do not make me dig up threads and quote!!!!).

Of 231 fights those fighters has just 9 losses. Vitali is 37/38 and beat them all - convincingly.

Funny how Vitali gets no credit for this yet Lewis is considered an ATG even though he looked **** @ 36 (according to his fans here @ ESB) and retired rather than face the best - this after having beaten down a very **** and WAY past prime Tyson when he was 35 while his last 'live' opponent was Tua two years prior. Plus he beat a way past prime 37 year old Holyfield!!!!

Why people rag on Vitali I don't know. whoever he faces he will be called a cherry picker afterwards. People are now speaking of solis & ostinov but as soon as big V beats them people will just say they're untested anyway it's a loose loose situation for Vitali.

Bottom line: You guys need to be reasonable. Haye is a ****ing coward and Vitali at an age that is older than lewis and Holyfield in their so called 'primes' is beating down all these up & comming stars - give him some respect please.

Maybe other than taking credit away from Lewis for beating Holy, very good post.

Thank you. But I really wasn't trying to take credit away from those guys (lord knows I love 'em!!!) I was just highlighting how unfairly people perceive Vitali when you do comparisons of age and opposition :good

I think Vitali and Wladimir get quite a lot of respect anyway. Everybody knows they are the best Heavyweights at the min, they dont duck anyone and have beaten all their contenders convinsingly of the last few years.

The only things going against them is that the division is poor and therefore they cant get any marquee fights and the marquee fights that there are at the minute (haye, povetkin) dont want to fight them. The other problem is that they are both boring boxers to watch and therfore dont get big viewings apart from in Europe.

Hopefully they will get to fight Haye, Povetkin, Solis and Adamek within the next year and then they will get to show the world how good they are

all 3 of those undefeated fighters hadn't fought anyone in the top 20 previous to their Vitali fight... so hardly shows a superior class of opposition

Vitali will get respect after he retired, but not the kind he actually deserves... I think a lot of the hate and scepticism is just because he's no AmeriCan or Brit.
I'm thinking to pull up a poll on the Lounge just to prove that where you come from has a lot to do with how popular you are as a boxer.

and a lot on here wanted Vitali to fight untested fat Solis or Boytsov rather than Briggs. :rofl:rofl:rofl
Aside from the Klits, Peter and some Klit vicitims, Adamek is the only man left in that disgraceful division who is willing to fight living opponents.

Look no one on here really doubts Vitali ( or Wlads ) abilities but the HW division is supposed to be about knocking guys out. In Vitali and Wlad we have two guys who are almost always the bigger , stronger and better fighter in the ring but they still insist on being safety first and gradually wearing guys down with their reach and strength advantages. At least Lewis had the Golota and Grant fights ( to name two ) where he went out and just smashed them to pieces , I dont doubt Vitlai and Wlad could do the same but they choose not to. Sport is , after all , entertainment , if the brothers were putting on entertaining fights HBO would be biting their hands off for the contract.

Two great fighters ( who are physically blessed ) no doubt but this isnt a golden era for HWs so to make up for that how about letting us see some real aggresion in there ? Tyson fought in a weak era too ,but at least he would dispose of mother****ers in exciting fashion.

    excellent point

also, a totally past it lennox lewis was still able to cause vitali an immense amount of grief in gaining the W the night they fought, God knows what a peak lennox would have done to him (im not even a Lennox fan and do not rank him in the top 10 ATG heavyweights)

the klitschko's happen to be in a division where even the top 10 contenders are unable to overcome the size differential and test them....forget lennox lewis, even a peak tyrell biggs, bonecrusher smith, or tony tucker would have beaten these two stiffs :happy
