I agree that this should be 'where the money is' as Rob says. Mentioning MSG/Vegas hosting it.. surely not. Dirrell couldnt sell out a bingo hall and Ward only has a fan base in oakland because he only bloody fights there. No its not right but look at the numbers and it points to Ward very UD in front of his home fans
If this was such a big event, this would be all over the news............................no one cares. The Supersixx is not a complete failure, but it failed 95%.
It could have been really good too. Too much bull****, as usual, behind the scenes. I'm still interested in it, but stuff like Andre Ward having all his fights in his hometown is nonsense.
To be fair, you havent changed your opinion and I respect that. I dont agree with you in the slightest though. All this BS happens before every fight. Super six or not. The competition is great. Best in the division (but for Bute) all involved. Group stages coming to a close and a final next year. What's not to like? It would have been better if it was all signed sealed and delivered over one calender year, but that was never going to happen. This is the best concept to happen to boxing over the last ten years.
Boxers are meant to be the bravest of sports athlete's. This is meant to be a tournament, but they have about 5 years rest in-between the fights...?? What aload of bull****. If they where gonna make it a tournament, they needed the fights to be 2months apart. If they are still injured or carrying fatigue from their last fights...so ****ing what. Tournaments are meant to be a test of endurance. Thats what would of made the tournament more entertaining, it would of been not just a test of skill but endurance...! Do athlete's in the Tour De France, take 5 years rest inbetween each stage..? No they don't..!! To make the supersixx work, boxers needed to take a risk. Boxers in general needed to grow some balls again...!!!! Its been a complete failure. Its a ****ing load of ****. This topic is aload of **** aswell, and once again......i am the best that is ever gonna happen to it.
It shouldn't be 50-50. More like 60-40. Ward is the champ and probably the best in the division. Dirrel is coming off of a loss and a DQ win so questionable all round. What happened to the days where fighters were hungry for a shot at the champ.
I thought everything was agreed 50/50 before the tournament? If so they should shut the **** up and honour that.
The super six is the best thing to happen to boxing in a long time. The fighters involved are not mega stars like Pac or Mayweather but they are the best in the division and are fighting each other. Which they wouldn't be if they weren't in this tournament. There is bull**** involved, and yeah the waiting between fights is pissing me off too but you get that kinda **** anyway. As boxing fans, this is the best we got right now. Maybe I just got low standards but this is boxing man. We're always getting ****ed around so when **** like this happens, we get all excited.
It's a tournament though and Andre Ward is having ALL his fights in his hometown. Negotiations for anything other than 50/50 shouldn't even be on the agenda. For once I fully agree with Dirrell. This fight should be on neutral ground, like Froch v Abraham. The main question is why all this wasn't sorted out before the tournament started??
The best concepts for boxing, are the one's that generate the most interests. So your trying to tell me, that the supersixx is generating more interest from the boxing fans, and average joes............than..... Lennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson..? Floyd Mayweather vs Ricky Hatton..?? how many fans are leaving the country to watch Carl Froch..??? 30,000..???? No..?? David Haye vs The Beast Valeuv..??? that one fight made David Haye a household name in british sport, and David Haye is a superstar in the boxing world. Carl Froch has had two fights in the supposively, best concept in boxing of the last 10 years "according to you"....................and he's still not a household name in British sport, about not a superstar in the world of boxing...??? He's a no mark mate, but that's not his fault....i like him, he's a bad man. The SuperSixx is getting no media attention in the UK, and nobody care's about it in America.......its not causing any interests from the average joe. Who boxing needs to get interested in boxing again, at grassroots level this tournament has done **** all.........to promote boxing again. You only have to look around, the papers are not talking about it..the news is not broadcasting on it, the only person talking about the supersixx are afew members of boxing forums. David Haye by himself, staged a bigger event than the whole of the supersixx so far. Yes David Haye....that Primadonna, ****ers be talking about of late. Haye vs Valuev..........has upstaged the whole supersixx so far. The supersixx was meant to save boxing, and generate interests once again. It was meant to make the fighters house hold names..? Carl Froch is still a no mark in British sport, and he's not a household name. Which is a shame, because he's a bad man...........kids need more bad people on TV these days.
IMHO part of the problem is that when the fighters signed up for the Super 6 they we all confident and reckoned that they'd be already be qualified for the semis by the time the last group fights came along. Now its like "Oh, ****....."
