I didnt know about this until just a few moments ago, the only member of the CSAC that did feel Margarito should get his licsense back was also a former boxer, who obviously had expereince in this sport outside of being a member of the commission, Obviously with his vote it shows the possibility that Margarito did not know what was being placed in the wraps why is it, since most of you say he knew, that the only member of the commission who voted for him is a former fighter

Because Margarito was never really liked to begin with, and when he did succeed he still got thrashed. Most never gave him any credit saying that he was just a work horse that could take a shot and wore down his opponents by absorbing punches. So when the whole plaster thing happend they crucify'd em.:deal
What? When was Margo "not liked"? Quit making up that sob story. On top of that everything you just said he was "not given credit for" was TRUE! Margo was LOVED for what he did to Cotto. That same love turned to HATE when he was found out to be cheating AND got KTFO by the same guy who Cotto beat. It was INTENSIFIED when the world saw Cotto fight Clottey and knew that Cotto had left a big part of himself in the ring that night with Margarito. You are chosing to see only what you want to see.
I dont know where you been for the last years or if you just heard about margarito after the cotto fight or boxing in general. But there was a ton of Marg haters and specially after the paul williams fight. After he beat cotto all I saw on ESB is threads about how he lost to williams and santos and how he was a middle weight fighting in the welter division taking on smaller men. :admin
That whole line about a Margarito (or Paul Williams for that matter) being a MW picking on smaller men is the most pathetic **** I can think of. He makes the weight, then he fights in that division, that's the rules. If a fighter boils down beyond their physical limits then they're left with no strength or energy to fight, it's up to them decide how much weight they want to risk losing. Be that as it may, although Margarito had his fair share of detractors (mainly disgruntled Cotto fans and even *****s who resented the claim that Floyd was avoiding him) as most boxers do, Margarito was very well respected on these forums prior to the loaded wraps situation. My impression was that the majority viewed him as kind of a peoples champ: a hard-nut with limited speed and skills that took out more highly touted guys with his sheer will, guts and tenacity. That's why the wraps thing was such a shock because he seemed to be a guy with a lot of integrity.
I agree Margarito was never liked especially since it was clear that he called out Floyd and of course the reaction he got out of Floyd face to face kinda exposed Floyd as being afraid of Margarito... the man **** himself and stuttered his way out of getting his ass whipped right then and there. Margarito haters, took full advantage of this, in sort of a get back kind of way.... who knows what will come of this I do hope Margarito does get that fight with Pacquiao, but from the sounds of it, Marquez will likely get that fight if Margarito can not get a license to fight in Dallas, which sux cus I dont want to see a third Marquez fight, Manny already beat him twice no point in a third bout. Besides how much does Marquez have left in the tank? age is catching up to him.... either way just an observation, the only person who voted in favor of Margarito is the one who actually had his hands wrapped and is more than likely aware of the state of mind a fighter does get in while his hands are being wrapped obviously there is a real possibility that he didnt know considering the circumstances...

The actual forensic evidence would have exonerated Tony. The knuckle pads were used pads. They had dried sweat and blood on them. The lab used an X-ray florescence spectrometer to find "traces" of calcium and sulfur. Calcium and sulfur both occur naturally in human blood and sweat. It would be unusual not to find traces of calcium and sulfur on used knuckle pads.
Fact is no one can prove Margo KNEW about the wraps. They'd only just been put in. He didn't have a chance to work them on the pads or anything with them, and we don't know if they felt any different. I find it hard to believe his trainer slipped them in without Margo's knowledge, but there is a chance he DIDN'T know, so he's INNOCENT untill proven GUILTY. No commission can PROVE his guilt at all.
That's where it comes down to who you believe. And, Margo is responsible for who trains him and is in his camp.
