I've slated Jeffries quite a bit on here but in his first couple of fights (I'm sure he must have been with Gallagher for part of the camp before his 2nd fight) he seemed to possess some decent fundamentals, particularly the jab, although I said even then he looked very easy to hit.

He needs to get back to Gallagher and get out of Sunderland for a couple of years and be in an environment where the average punter on the street won't know who he is.

if he doesn't learn from that last performance then he is going no where fast.

Can't see how interacting with fans on his facebook/twitter is hindering his progress to be honest. Surely that takes a minimal time to do.

Changes need to be made, and errors addressed, but it's still so, so early into his career, these are going to be fairly easy to correct, aslong as he remains open minded. I think Jeffries is going to suffer a loss or to along the way, but I think he'll go on to have quite a successful career!!!

Its a bit lame criticising him for using twitter etc, Mayweather is on twitter everyday, he does ok for himself.

Infact, using twitter to get a fanbase is probably better than sitting on his arse watching eastenders instead.

i agree to get a fanbase twitter is ok, but to start sulking when you get criticised on it is just childish. he is a fully grown man and should act like one and take his criticism and use it to learn and grow as a fighter

The difference is, Mayweather has proved time and time again that when it comes to boxing, he trains and prepares as hard as anyone. He can obviously find the balance between social activities and getting his mental hat on in the months before a fight. Remember his famous quote:

""When you're playing, I'm working... When you're working... I'm working"

Jeffries seems to be moaning and on twitter and facebook constantly and his performances are going from average, to bad, to worse. It's clear his mind isn't on boxing, even when he gets in the ring. Looking at his twitter account constantly and all the comments about how great he is, has unfortunately gone to his head, in my opinion.

Hopefully the draw is a wake up call. I have my doubts though.

Mayweathers quote is a bit misleading- perhaps it should be

'When you're playing, I'm working (or on Twitter)- when you're working, I'm working (or on Twitter) but i'm mostly working

You get the main point though. Mayweather's fight preperation is not affected by other things he does away from the ring. Jeffries' preperation clearly is.

Still, its a pretty lame thing to complain about. If he wasnt on there he'd be on some other internet site, playing the xbox or sitting around with his mates like everyone else. If you sleep for 8 hours a day, train for 6 hours theres still another 10 hours spare. I wouldnt read much into him being on there a lot.

That's a fair comment. All i'm saying is that it can't be helping him. It's obviously just one of many things that need looking at if Jeffries is going to do anything with his boxing career.

One of the big problems is the amount of money he's earning and the fact he's already a local hero. This is despite him doing nothing yet in pro boxing. Most other boxers gradually build up there resume when they turn pro, away from the limelight and under the radar. Jeffries is in the unusual position of being able to sell out large venue's right at the beginning of his career. When you mix that with the amount he's already earned - well that looks a recipe for disaster from where i'm sitting as it doesn't look like Jeffries can handle it all at once. He looks to be too busy lapping up the plaudits and trying to please all the fans that turn up for his fights, when he should be slowly developing his career, boxing skills and working his way up.

Constantly on twitter where all he'll listen to are people saying how great he is, is not a good thing, as he seems to believe it. All this stuff about "dickheads slagging him off" is worrying. He should be saying, "that's fine and I respect you're opinion, but I'll be back in the gym after a short break and working hard to prove you all wrong". I don't see any of that though, he even takes time out to delete negative/constructive comments from his page. He's happy to be surrounded by 'Yes' people.

As safc1990 says, Moving away from Sunderland should be put to the top of his list of things to do, or 'activities' on his facebook page :yep.

For me Big Glenn Mccrory got it spot on when he questioned his mental toughness - fair enough noone like negative criticism but his reaction to it isn't what you'd like to see; should be more "**** you I'll prove you all wrong" rather than "its not nice/excuses/ etc".

Say what you want about Khan but his reaction to losing to Prescott (gym next day) was what I would like to see from Jeffries.

Bottom line: After the Banbula fight why didn't he just say "I ****ed up, I need to work harder but I will come good"

His pro careers been a disaster from the beginning tbh. Wrong choice with original choice of promotion which also took a long time to get sorted. Wrong choice leaving Gallagher who was the right man for the job in the 1st place everyone can see that. I think since Maloney took him on, I like Frank but the frequent Sunderland shows is just chasing quick cash and applying too much spotlight on him too soon. I dont agree with this twitter generation, use it to hype already scheduled fights sure its publicity bu nt at the stage of Tony's career he should be busting a gut in the gym which evidently aint happening. He's already lost crucial time in his development with the choices he's made no need to worsen that by dedicating time to something that isnt really beneficial for how he's using it (getting more followers than Darren Bent) He's supported hugely already put the ****ing keyboard down and the gloves on and go to work youre a pro now

when in camp, twitter and facebook should be turned off or given to a trusted, close friend. if hes gonna achieve anything in boxing, start as you mean to go on...get into good regimes and practices. they should get him with froch for a few weeks, copying him -logging every press-up, every meal etc.
froch has logged every single exercise he has done since turning pro
now he got a world amatuer bronze...but was he miles ahead of jeffries in terms of talent...? nope. but in dedication hes streets ahead. froch is a good example for jeffries to follow IMO
