Its mind boggling to me that the CSAC own inspectors present during Margarito's wrapping for the Mosley fight, all testified that to them it looked like Margarito was'nt aware that something illegal was wrong with his wraps. ......the inspectors testified that Margarito was cooperative all the way through, while Capetillo was not. ......and yet those standing within the CSAC that voted to not grant Margarito a license, all feel Margarito has'nt owned up to wrong doing and that he's unremorseful. .....the main commision member leading the fight against granting Margarito a license, went as far as to say that Margarito knew of the wrongdoing....... Who the **** does that lady think she is that she would say that when the commisions own inspectors who were there when Margarito wrapped, feel that there's a good chance Margarito did'tn know. Hell, Margarito's own defense lawyer brought in written statements from different trainers in boxing, including Nazim Richardson himself who stated it was certainly possible for a trainer to wrap and insert something illegal in a fighters handwraps without the fighter knowing. There is'nt any question here, the people representing the CSAC are clueless and refused to acknowleadge any facts that would favor Margarito. Its not by accident that the only commision member with any boxing experience voted to grant Margarito his license back.
I've actually changed my opinion on this, I believed that the wraps wouldn't do any extra damage until Marg himself stated if they werent found his opponent would be seriously hurt. Marg is still cool with the trainer who put the knuckle pads in place. There's only 1 logical conclusion, they tried to ruin an opponent with dirty pads, and it wont be the first time, because Cotto was a bigger tougher fight
You don't have a clue how this goes down lol... Only the states who really don't have a legit commission will let him fight. AM will be like Mike or Morrison...fighting in nondescript venues lol... AM won't be fighting in Cali, Vegas, or New York, so he can really kiss his ass goodbye if he doesn't fight anyone he can make money with. He better hope that he can fight PAc in Texas lol...
Divac, you are a very good poster, but I have to disagree with you on the 'not knowing his hands were being loaded' argument. I think he knew, but may have been told that it may harden, but maybe not to the point that it would turn to plaster or anything hard. When a man wraps your hands, and after he is done, fighters test how their hands feel, and many times are wrapped two or more times to get a good fitting. You can feel the difference once you hit your wrapped hand with your bare hand.
There is'nt any evidence to prove that he did know. ......what more could Margarito's lawyers present as evidence that what they already did at that re-licensing hearing? The inspectors present testified that Margarito comported in a manner that signalled he did'nt know what was going on...... Statements from trainers explaining that its very possible to load a fighters gloves without the fighter knowing....... .....and I thought the ace up Margarito's lawyers sleeve was a statement by Nazim Richardson himself who discovered the illegality, explaining that Margarito may very well have not known. I think what is hurting Margarito now are the numerous earlier stories describing the knucklepads as blocks, when in fact they were far from that. Nazim Richardson as the exxagertor that he is, initially described them as blocks, but he has since backed off that statement to acknowleadge that the fighter wearing those pads inbetween layers of legal gauze may very well not have known. After all this evidence is presented, I think its ridiculous that Margarito did'nt get relicensed, especially suprised with the verdict that Margarito is unremorseful. ......in other words, after all the evidence put forth from actual boxing trainers that Margarito may have not known......the commision still ruled, "well, we still want him to admit guilt even though he may not be guilty." "We want him to be remorseful, though ther may not be anything to be remorseful about." .....just ridiculous. ....the only thing the CSAC is concerned about it the court of pubic opinion, which are the opinions of those that dont even know all the facts of the case. The CSAC does'nt care about the facts, they just care that the casual observer who reads about Margarito relicensing hearing are'nt outraged that a man who was earlier described by many to have his wraps loaded with blocks, is relicensed.:-(
Maybe....we'll see. Time usually heals all but if Marg fights in TX the other states are gonna follow suit.:good
