    TOUGH TEST FOR BANGER ACOSTA
    http://www.sportinglife.com/boxing/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=boxing/10/08/19/manual_180515.html

    Faccio:
"In my opinion Dunne did not want to come out for the eighth round and I think I should have won the fight because I was ready to continue."

Maybe had something to do with the three litres of blood he had lost, lad. Just a thought. Dunne had been beating him fairly well, although in fairness Faccio was starting to get into it.

But yeah paddymickey, I'll agree - five or less. Maybe three, **** it!

of course he did, Bernard wasn't sure of the rules.....he thought he was going to lose by stoppage(as he would have done under British rules at the time).
So what Faccio said was indeed poop.

Faccio starting getting into the fight a little bit immediately after the headclash, however as round 7 went on Bernard started to give him a real licking despite his claret covered face. Probably out of urgency as he may have felt he was about to be stopped.

If Acosta goes in there and boxes, Faccio will leave himself open and give Alexei the chance to land big shots and take him out. If Acosta goes in there and starts looking to take him out right from the start then he may encounter some problems. Once he keeps a cool head I don't think it's bold at all to predict he'll stop the Uruguayan within 5.

I can't recall Faccio giving Dunne any trouble in that fight at all until the clash of heads. Even after the clash of heads Dunne was way too good for him. Dunne was just going through the motions of taking steps back to recovery. If Dunne wanted too, I think he could have taken Faccio out earlier. Faccio is embarassing himself with comments like that. He got absoutely out boxed and out skilled and I would have more respect for him if he just admitted it was a 1 sided schooling:hat

Faccio definitely buzzed Dunne around round 6. Dunne was well on top but those whiskers of his were always a problem. 100% Faccio got to him at one stage

You're right BamBam, Faccio hurt Dunne in the sixth and some sitting around me were even sensing a stoppage if I recall.

Dunne always had difficulty making weight for superbantam-weight didnt he though. He started his career at featherweight so id say the weight difficultys had something to do with his suspect chin

I'm sure it didn't help but even if he fought at feather, his chin would still be poor. The difference would be insignificant imo.
