If you noticed Cotto defeated guys in the pro's that he lost to in the armatures. Your Cuban fighters can lose to the one's they fought in the armatures.
I would like to replace racist with bias.

Don't say that, actually the World amateur boxing events are just as important as a pro championship fight, actually bigger.

In the Olympics, the whole World is tuning in, in a pro fight, only the boxing fans tune in. So, which is more important?

The problem is that since Cotto was the one who lost to a Cuban then for you the amateurs suck, but if it was the other way around I am very sure you will have a very different comment...:-(

Yeah, but those fighters that Cotto defeated were not Cubans. I am not trying to sound like a racist or making my fighters seem invincible but you simply cannot compare a great amateur vs a great Cuban amateur. The Cubans are the dominating force in the amateurs, so Cotto never faced any former Cuban amateur great in his pro career. The others were pretty good but not as close as the Cubans.:-(

If anyone has any doubt, just try and see Cuban Mario Kindelán. If he would have turned pro, he would have repeated his dosis to Cotto, Trinidad and Khan as well. The guy was a legend, his technique, movements, accuracy, timing and talent was simply unmatched. He was the best among the best of the Cuban National Team...:good

Look man, all I am saying is that no one really cares what happend in the amateurs. As that was then, this is now. You know that. Who beat who in the amateurs is irrelevant, really.

Pinto beat Cotto in the amateurs and got his ass whooped when they met as pros.

And there are a few more stories where that came from. And for the record, I wouldn't have a different comment. I don't have a problem with Cotto losing to a cuban man

I am a huge Lara fan and believe he is the future. :good

Man, I live in Florida. 99% of my latin friends are cubans. And 90% of them don't give a **** about boxing. Another thing, I never meant ages, I meant boxing experience.

Pro's and amateur are not the same. Not in baseball, basquetball, boxing or any other sport. Most countries dont give a **** about amateur boxing. Places like Puerto Rico or Mexico use amateur boxing to give their boxers experience before turning pro. For them is not about getting medals but getting paid.
Boxers in Puerto Rico are not trained to tap-tap for points like in the amateurs, is a hole different type of training, same as other countries.
There are many fighters who lost in the amateurs, but destryed their oponents as pros. Trinindad beat like four gold medalists, and Cotto avanged his amateur losses against abdullave and Pinto.
I understand that you are proud of your Cuban fighters amateur records, but the pros is what counts.

I bet Teddy Atlas is giggling up a storm, knowing that he's caused boxing message boards to light up with talk of this.

He thinks Lara is ready for Cotto now. I disagree; he needs about a year at least (of both Lara improving and Cotto declining).

Cotto is past prime and losing steam, but he still isn't totally shot like Atlas thinks he is. I still see him stopping Chavez Jr. and Lara at this point.

Hell, I'm not sure Lara is ready for the current Wild-Carded version of Chavez.

True, this is the beauty of exchanging friendly jabs, but it's more beautiful when people don't use profane language and don't insult anyone. God Bless you for that...:good

Again, if you want to ignore that Kindelán beat Cotto that's fine with me. But you can't erase that from the history record books...:good

And many people do care about the amateurs, just because you don't it does'nt mean is less valuable than the pros...

My brother, you need to understand that 98% of the US based Cuban population is white. The Cuban Blacks are the ones who box and they are in Cuba. Did you know the sharp contrast between the US Cubans and Cubans from the Island?

98% of US Cubans are white...
75 to 80% of Cubans inside the Island are Black and Mulatos...

That's why your friends don't box, they just like Baseball, Basketball etc. In Cuba is actually the opposite, Basketball does'nt exist and Boxing is as popular as Baseball...:good

Bottomline: God loves Mexicans, Cubans, PuertoRicans, Colombians, Philipinos, Americans, Jamaicans, Russians, Germans, Jewish, Arabs, Chinese, Japanese, Blacks, Whites, yellow, rednecks, Indian, Natives, etc etc etc. That's why He died for us, in order that we have freedom to go to Him and be reconciled with the Father.

" God The Father " loves everyone, and I apologize if sometimes my post are offensive to some of you. God Bless everyone here !!! :p
