Maidana is the only somewhat crebile name on that list. I don't have much interest in any of those other fights.

Damn i forgot about Mike Jones. He has called out Berto. I think style wise that would be a very good fight. You know what? Why not. I guarantee Hbo would love for Berto vs Jones to happen. So yea forgot about i mention Cintron. I say fight Jones.

:nut Seriously, is that the best you can come up with? Fighting a smaller 140 pound fighter like Maidana?

I went from the names on the list, so clearly I didn't come up with any of them. Most of those guys on that list wouldn't even be approved by HBO.

Why not? Berto vs Maidana is clearly a freaking mismatch to say the least. Maidana belongs in the junior welterweight division.

So you'd rather him fight some unknown Euro who might be an even easier fight? Or maybe Mike Jones who's completely unproven? I have no idea why people on this fight sometimes act like no one has ever moved up in weight before. It happens all the time. I didn't see anyone criticising Angulo(a JMW) for calling out Berto. Hell, Martinez(the MW champ) tried to make a fight with a a WW and a JMW. Maidana won't be accepting this fight anyway, so there really isn't any good opponents out there for Berto.

    Gerardo (AZ)

Dan, why is HBO not approving Aydin as an opponent for Berto? He is a deserving opponent, especially considering the alternatives.
    Dan Rafael (1:59 PM)

They decided they didn't want to buy that fight, especially after his shaky win over Jo Jo Dan. They're the buyers. They can make an offer for whatever they like............"

Berto vs Cotto would be great.

I think Berto vs Clottey would be very good too but I don't see what Berto has to gain.

It's ridicules to say the least. Fighters have move up but it's mostly cause they can't make weight. Maidana is a smaller fighter in which he belongs at 140 pounds. Urango got the size of a 147 pound fighter but not Maidana.

I've watch some of Mike Johns fights. Imo he has the style that could give Berto problems. Sure he's mostly unproven but he got pop and it's better then fighting a smaller junior ww that has no business being at 147 pound weight class.

Sid Razak, that guy is due a big fight, Joshua Clottey's defence with 10x better offense.

Maidana is 5'9" and is actually taller than Berto. And it's not like Maidana started out at a lower weight class. He started out at 140 lbs. And it's not like Berto is a big WW. Size would not be much of an issue. Maidana probably walks around a 160+ lbs. I don't see how ihim fighting at WW is ridiculous.

Mike Jones is almost totatlly unknown. Why the hell should Berto fight some 6'1" WW with no credntials? There's more upside to beating Maidana than Jones.
