Does being a Roy Jones fan come with a free subscription to being PBF fan?

I understand what you mean, but I think that is an economic issue not a support issue. At the end of the day it comes down to "knocking a guy back down into his place". That is why "hopes" are made and people like "Larry Merchant" have a job.

The Black guy doesn't sell until he either scares (Tyson, Liston, Foreman) or enrages (Ali, RJJ, FMJ) people into buying. Only a handful of Black guys have been able to pull off being the nice guy and all of them are named "Sugar".

I am never enraged on here. Don't speak on Hip Hop culture because it isn't even about Hip Hop. Hip hop wasn't even a major force when RJJ was making his bones. He grew up jamming to R&B and Soul.

African Americans embrace FMJ and Jones because they feel that the men stand up for themselves in the face of the ever-hating media. Same reason African Americans care less about Tiger Woods because the same media he spent all his time pleasing is in a feeding frenzy shredding him.

What I am sayin' is that you are completely wrong. What fighter keeps his fan base when he gets old and starts losing? Of any race? That is just kind of a silly statement meant to slander fans of certain fighters.

Nobody cared when SSM was knocking people out. Why? A, because how he was doing it. B, because he was a generally boring guy. The guy had no charisma. You don't like him or hate him.

Guys like RJJ, FMJ, B-Hop, James Toney illicit a response. In and out of the ring.

You, in the UK, are telling me not to be naive?

So then tell us what Black's like about his personality. Your "expert" insights would be greatly appreciated.

I Never claimed to be the authority on this subject. You flatter me, Baldy.

Nazim Richardson said it best in an interview ahead of the Mosley fight. I can't find it now, but it was basically saying the same thing I did. Floyd appeals to the hip hop community, I don't see why anyone would dispute this. Perhaps your reasoning is a factor, but it isn't the only reason why certain African Americans are supporters of these kind of fighters.

Nothing wrong with Addie's observation, its mostly true.

Black people support Floyd. Filipino's support Pac. The British specially the football crowd supports Hatton. The paki's support Khan. Mexican-Wak supports mexicans, even ones partly made of plaster.

No need to get offended by it, they draw certain fanbases. Of course Floyd has white/asian fans, just as Pac has black/white fans.

I'm the exception to the rule, of course, I'm not a fan of any English fighters.

Could have never guessed you were half filipino. Always been quite critical of the pacman specially in the past.

Of course I know filipino's who hate the pacman.
