:good no worries bud. Pacmans the man of the moment so i'm not surprised that he's getting the votes now but he's 2nd or 3rd in my book with B-hop completing the set. RJs a drug cheat kool plus he continues to tarnish his career by carrying on. Its the whole time period and as entertaining as he was he hasnt beaten the quality of fighters Floyd has plus back to back KO's when he stopped fighting ok fighters and losing to 2 of the contenders on this list means its a big. Oh yea and did I mention he's a cheat?....

 

It dosent take away from all his superb performances.

He only tested positive for one fight...........or am I mistaken ? :huh

I can only remeber him testing positive for the Eric Harding fight.

Your posts are good, they usually are. I don't necessarily agree that anything you've said about Floyd is false.

It's just not as good as some of the other fighters on that list, in my opinion, which means little in the grand scheme of things :good

White Tiger however can **** off with that RJ stuff, he was caught in the state of indiana in 2000 for anabolic steroids its a performance enhancer and frankly you dont get 3 strikes in a sport where that sort of advantage can kill people (note Mr Arum re:Tony Margarito) For the record yes I believe you are right about it being 1 fight, was it the Hall fight? The old 'it was nasal spray' to 'it was supplements' routine. Come on! Taking the drugs out he still dont match Floyd, Pac and Hopkins. When he was tearing it up it was against ok fighters when he made the jump he got sparked back to back and now is tarnishing his own legacy. Shame, i of course have no sympathy. Same goes for Toney

Its Pac-man for me.

I don't deny that Floyd looks the superior boxing technician, and had his acid test against Castillo at LW (which scores big points), but I score highly for competition faced and victory over said comp. That puts Pac over the top in my eyes.

This poll, as confirmed by the votes so far, is really a straight shoot-out between Pac and Floyd. I like Pac though.

Jdawg, I don't necesarily agree with you, but love reading your posts (always informative). And your right, Floyd does appear to be the most naturally gifted of the list. Just wished he had have tested himself as much as Pac.

 

Hey an old Ray Mercer sparked out former UFC Heavyweight champ Tim Sylvia in under 10 seconds, no Sylvia's no Randy Couture but it CAN happen Gaz. I dont know whos into mma on here (so this might interest noone!) but the story of the fight might just be told in the first seconds- see if Toney comes out in a traditional boxing stance. MMA fighters dont do use it, they'd get their leg kicked into row Z or an olympic wrestler like Couture will take him down and beat him up and its done

Appreciate that D-mac, I guess when you have 2 clear elite fighters in the same weight division (kinda...) its gonna divide opinion that can only be settled in the squared circle. Its talked about soooooo much but this fight is massively important to our sport

 

IMHO the difference is that Sylvia is a striker and was dumb enough to think he could stand up with Mercer. Coulture is a wrestler and knows where the fight needs to be in order for him to win.

 

Yes spot on, Couture's a freak athlete not in a million years am I saying theres a comparison between him and Sylvia. Toney will have 1 shot, thats a given. Even if Couture shoots for the takedown as soon as Herb Dean (great ref) says lets fight theres at the very least 1 uppercut chance for Toney. Slim yes, just saying there is a chance and it'll have to be early.

Unless Toney sparks Couture straight away he's on a hiding to nothing IMO. You can talk about Couture being 47 years old, but the fact of the matter is that he has won his last two in the UFC and four of his last six, which given the competitive nature of the UFC match-ups is quite a good run. Couture will probably GNP or submit Toney within the first two rounds.

Submission really isn't Couture's game, but Toney is that green that its always a possibility.

A points decision for Couture isn't out of the question either, whereby everyone saves a bit of face in the matter.

I like Couture, he seems a decent bloke but I hope Toney wins just for that petty UFC vs. Boxing shite (thats fought under UFC, not boxing, rules!!) bull****.

That said, Couture KO 1 is my pick for the fight.

 

Yea just got in there on the quick win being imperative for Toney. D-macs right, ignore Coutures age. Now im not completely up with the facts but when Randy lost to Nogueira last year it was the 1st or 2nd time he'd been in a non championship fight for about 9 years!! He's a machine, an olympian and you want a guy not afraid to fight the best? Can do a lot worse than Couture.

GnP win early for Couture most likely, yea decision is possible but that'd mean a dire fight with Couture clinching Toney into the best shape of his life
