    Boom!

History has some how distorted the facts, and made Hagler the underdog in the Leonard fight. It's ****ing hysterical.

If that is who you think are buying FMJ's fights you are sadly mistaken. It is that simple.

Fans of whatever is irrelevant. There are certain commonalities in Black culture that can be traced all the way back to the Mother continent. These commonalities are the glue that bind the fan bases. Style, flair, percussion based music forms, etc... RJJ and FMJ share a fan base based on these commonalities. They just coincidentally happen to have overlap with hip hop. However they also have overlap with Soul, R&B, Jazz, etc...

I am not making this complicated. I am just trying to keep you from reinforcing an incorrect reasoning pattern that led you to the correct conclusion. It is like the right answer, but all the wrong math.

    :good Agree to disagree.

I'll agree with Floyd and Ellerbe, and you can agree with yourself...a black American who watches Floyd, who feels personally slighted by my generalization.

Exactly. Even though stylistically SRL is quite similar to RJJ, FMJ, and other fighters who would fit in this grouping. He is not liked due to his PERSONA of seeking acceptance. It is percieved as fake.

It has nothing to do with hip hop.

Leonard certainly doesn't appeal to that target audience. You're right. :good

Betting odds don't mean ****. Anybody could see that Hagler wasn't the same. Revisionism makes sense because hindsight is 20/20. Was Leonard prime either? No. I give him credit. He was more active, and his "30" tactic was shrewd but effective.

Did you just say Leonard was more active than Hagler? :huh

If you think 15-25 year old Blacks are buying $60 PPVs making FMJ the highest paid active boxer? More power to you. I will tell you though you are sadly mistaken. FMJ and Ellerbe are blowing smoke up your arse.

I don't feel personally slighted in the least. I just hear crazy things and try to educate people since I know that most of you are up tight to interact with Black people off of the Internet.

Like I said... Correct conclusion. Wrong reason.

In the past I had been perhaps overly critical of Leonard's career and Leonard as a person for that very reason. He was come off at times as a soft-spirited guy who just wants to make money and says certain things for marketing purposes rather than saying how he really feels. That said, at this point I just flat respect him after reviewing all of the footage I could of him. So much ****ing talent and mental resolve to go with it in the ring. One of the greatest head to head fighters in history.

He was more active in their fight. Not in terms of # of fights.

your posts are a riot. the funniest part is that you throw all these assumptions about me into your posts , all the while accusing me of making assumptions about things much more easily proven than what you are trying to counter my argument with.
you are obviously not dumb but you are painfully lacking in self perception.

I tend to think the fans who are buying the PPVS are Oscar De La Hoya fans, British fans, and Mexicans. :yep
