i was at the prizefighter supporting a freind of mine ricky owen and i was impressed with casey him and ricky owen sould get it on to see who would of won in the final
I had it to Casey, though all the rounds were close. I'd like to see these two over ten, Wale's problem has been his stamina and tendency to get into too many exchanges, Casey is fan friendly, ad providing his chin holds up could do alright IMO. He impressed me, fairly tidy with his aggression even when throwing as many punches as he did, wasn't bothered about taking one to throw and his hooks looked genuinely hurtful. Age/amateur background anyone? I was very impressed.
if casey were to fight paul hyland it would be a very good fight i would need to go with paul whom ive seen in the gym very skillfull and slick and has greater experience over a longer distance.casey is a stong SBW though
willie is 28 . he wasnt a great amateur he never won an irish senior title which isnt an easy thing but his style is definatley suited to the pros . if he can keep busy who knows he could win a european title
Casey is the reason why Prizefighter is still worthwhile, even if we have to suffer a few crappy shows now and again. Gave all the UK fans and chance to see him and made him alot of fans. Hope to see him on Sky again soon.
yes, like me, he lit the show up, exciting style, and a good puncher, wich isen,t often the case with euro lighter weight boxers, goodluck to him.:good
Casey wins a shut out against Salvini. http://boxing-ireland.com/20100808_casey_salvini_64.html Onwards and upwards for Big Bang. I agree with Casey that he is more worthy of the EBU title shot than Hyland and hopes he gets it. Him against Kiko Martinez is a mouth watering fight. Let's hope it happens.
Is it true what he says in the article, that Hyland is pricing himself out of a fight for the Irish title? That would be a shame, depriving us of a top class scrap for the Irish title. It would make sense though, it'd be a big risk for Hyland when he think he's so close to a Euro shot.
Wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure he won't care about the Irish title if he gets the EBU shot. Casey seems a lot hungrier than Hyland it would seem.
I only got off the Phone to Paulie regarding this, Paulie or his team have never been approached by Team Casey for the Irish or EU title...... And Phil Sutcliffe also said it is too soon for Willie to fight Paulie anyway.....
