    agreed

Floyd will remarkably need to step up his aggression because theres a big offensive output disparity between Mayweather and Pacquiao. Im sure PBF will have a higher accuracy percentage, but its not going to best Pac's punches landed. PBF will lose a decision simply because Pac will outwork him, so PBF cannot count on a favorable decision unless he plans to seriously step up his aggression and offensive output. If not, he will need to plan on getting a KO on Pacquiao....

See how he moved out of the way?

He can also close the distance between himself and his opponent after throwing that right hand like that video demonstrated, and we know emmanuel is not a good inside fighter.

Can't argue with that. There is no question Floyd is the most naturally gifted boxer in the history of the sport. It is his own arrogance that kept him from going that little extra distance to fight better opp, keep adding new things and get to this point where he could have taken the Pac fight and probably whooped him. Now the cherry picking and same old style plus a tad slower will keep him from fighting Manny or getting knocked out if he ends up fighting him.

    its true vs most fighters....

    BUT

Pacquiao's attacks are NOT like most fighters....

He shoots in/out at angles, which are MUCH harder to predict, counter, and damage mitigation. AND he attacks in combinations, sometimes sustained. Mayweather is not fond of being hit, but he's gotta know that even he cannot avoid being hit by Pacquiao, cuz you only can do so much if a guy plans to drop 5-10 hit combo on you in blinding fashion....

emmanuel's volume can be controlled with sharp counter punching.

    Marquez 511/12 = 43 per round

emmanuel's 619/12 = 52 per round which is down from his usual 68 punches per a round. He threw moar than Marquez, but this is the fight the boxing community likes to say Marquez won. Floyd will drop that number even lower than Marquez did.

It all depends on whether Mayweather can lower Pacquiao's output...if he can somehow lower the output, Mayweather may best Pacquiao for punches landed. I doubt Pacquiao throws 1200 against Mayweather...and Mayweather always seems to be able to lower his opponents ouput (the majority of the time anyway).

See my post above yours for proof of someone successfully lowering emmanuel's output.

Why does anyone talk about Manny vs JMM? I mean how ****in obvious is that Manny is 2x as good at 147? Throw all of his fights out the window under 140. Even if he lost whoever beat him was not facing the best Manny Pacquiao which is Manny at 147.

    good point on that....
But you outta post up a more recent fight vs a counter-puncher, Clottey's fight...
    he avg'd 100+ punches for 12 rounds

I think Clottey's offensive output is more comparable to PBF's than JM Marquez's.... JMM is a real go-getter. Wasnt he just involved with a Fight of the Year, a year ago? You cannot get that with PBF's offensive output....

Actually Manny's Volume has fluctuated at times when he's been enhancing and evolving his style as a fighter. Take the MAB fight.....the rematch. Manny's Volume was down drastically as is the case with the JMM rematch.

JMM is usually landing on his opponents in the high 40 percentile, so his "sharp" counter punching was really NOT as "Sharp" as it normally is. Manny's volume wouldn't have been affected by the punches JMM actually landed...it was more Manny's game plan and where he was as a fighter that affected the volume more than anything else.

Manny taking punishemnt has NEVER detered him in the past. his Volume always stays fairly consistant....but there are times when he doesn't produce as much offensively regardless of if he's getting hit more or not...him getting hit usually produces MORE offense.

Because that's the last great, right handed dominant technician with counter punching skills that he fought.

No, Marquez averaged 43 punches a round which was only greater than Floyd's average of 40 per a round in his last two fights by THREE punches.

If you talk about the Clottey bout, I think you have to take into consideration how Clottey just stood in front of Pacquiao for the whole 12 rounds...this is why Pacquiao was able to throw 1200 punches, Mayweather will not stand there and be hit like that.

Only problem with your theory is that the boxing community felt Marquez won most of the rounds in the 2nd fight. If it was emmanuel imposing his will and gameplan, he should have been taking the rounds.

    No, check the stats.

Mayweather has a consistent history of dropping his opponent's output, because he's a controller. He uses his ridiculously fast left jab/hook/counter and right lead/counter to control the rate of the fight.

The problem is..... Mayweather Sr. accused Pacquiao for PEDS because he speculates that Pac cannot be THAT "Relentless" after climbing so many weight classes. IMO, this is the BIGGEST concern for the Mayweather camp - Pacquiao's "Relentlessness". The funny thing, Pacquiao has ALWAYS been relentless, even when he was a young fighter. Thats what made him popular in the first place....

The "RELENTLESS" factor is a very bad problem for a "Controller". I believe PBF is afraid he CANNOT control Pacquiao, and slow him down. This is why i also believe he knows he cannot win a decision vs Pac....

Mayweather also depends on a linear attacker for him to pull off his right counter. Pacquiao DOES NOT attack straight in, and he'll train in that even more so for that fact. He naturally attacks in angles anyhow w/ his in/out fighting style.

Pac also is not afraid to get hit as he comes in. In fact, he invites firefights, and when he's at his most dangerous. Of course Mayweather knows to stay out of firefights. But this means even if PBF throws a right counter, Pac will continue to attack, and even worse, may catch PBF posing....

When you hit someone cleanly, there's enough time to reset. This is what boxing was found on. This is why it's called hitting without getting hit.
