Sorry Cach, I just need to confirm this. Are you suggesting the Michael Grant of today is a better more effective Heavyweight than Valuev?
Not sure. Valuev looked terrible in his fights with Holy and Haye- two fighters who did very little against him. I am not sure he has anything left. I give Haye credit for the Valeuv win anyway. All I am saying is that Haye was not really in any danger in that fight because he relies more on his natural awkwardness than any kind of power, whereas Grant can bang.
He wasn't in danger because his mobility saw him evade the majority if not practically all of Valuev's punches. Of course, he wasn't a puncher, but even if he had been, he didn't land any telling shots regardless. It was a non-factor.
Valuev is still relevant in the heavyweight division and Grant is not, however one has to point out that that is due to his size and marketing. In reality Valuev should be well outside top 10 at heavy. One interesting fact: Grant has longer reach than Valuev.
And again, what it that big of a feat considering that 47 year old Holyfield did the same? I told you truthfully, I give Haye credit for that fight, but only so much.
I think if Adamek had fought Valuev in the same manner and won in the exact same manner, then he'd be lauded. That's to say, I'm only reiterating what everyone already knows to be true. All of the posters among the General Forum have their own agenda's. People who favor Adamek might do having analyzed styles, but it's also probable that they just don't like David Haye. They don't like his smug attitude. His perceived unwillingness to fight.

You could be right. Adamek is a warrior who fights anybody and often, and people like that. Haye has spent years now mouthing about the Klits and cancelling fights. People don't like that. So I think you have something there. But the bottom line is that was don't know what Nikki has left, and it doesn't look like he is the fighter he once was. He was handed a belt back for no reason, looked like **** against Holy, and looked like **** agaisnt Haye. I give Haye credit because Nikki is an awkward guy to fight regardless, which was kind of your point in the beggining, but I just don't see it as proof positive of Haye being a championship caliber guy.
True but so should be Valuev after losing to Ruiz, Donald, Holyfield, Chagaev. He is getting big fights because people want to see a 7 footer 350+ lbs against 6 feet 200 lbs guys to see how they deal with him. To bad many casual fans dont know that Valuev has little power and is very slow and usually fights in stinkers that go the distance.
