New Zealands Joseph Parker has placed himself in Gold Medal contention after winning his bout today.

He won today after Zsigmond retired :37 seconds into the second round. Parker was ahead 5:1 on the score.

Through to the final taking place on the 25th.

Parker faces the winner of this bout.

Only asking as i have always said if Pacific islanders or Maori fighters could develop a stronger work ethic etc they could rule the heavyweight division..Alot of them are very mobile for there size and ofcourse naturally posess massive power..

I saw the fight highlights (all 20 secs worth) on one of the Youth Olympic chanels on fox. Iv been flicking past them everyday waiting for a boxing match and finally got one lol.

He isnt your tipical islander in size and frame though. He is very tall, trim and looks like he has no excess fat or muscel on his frame at all, Looks to be a killing machine.

I agree on the above post about Pasific Islanders running the HW scene, if they were as didecated and into Boxing as much as rugby and leauge, i think they would be destroying people left right and center.
