He keeps his right hand really low and paws it out way to soft. recipe for disaster.

he does that because already measured his opponent's speed and knows his body and head movement are enough...it comes with yrs of experience and natural skills.

i never seen beranza quit period, and what is so crazy about it is that rigondeaux didnt even throw that many punches is not like he went gamboa on him. that impressed me the most , how you just make a guy as durable as beranza quit when you hit him about 15 times a round lol that says a lot about his accuracy

his reflexes are also out of this league, did you see that round that all rigo did was put his hands down and duck and weave on every single punch beranza threw and beranza didnt even hit him that was amazing

You are right, Rigo will never go a la Gamboa, going like a throwing punches machine. He is comfortable and unbeatable at his game, counterpunching and moving. He doesnt need to get in a brawl,he is a natural. And its amaizing as cubanborn says how he can make somebody quit the way he did baranza quit last night.
But remember, some people will never understand this and will demand a most aggressive Rigo, its just because they dont understand the science of boxing- hit and dont get hit

IDK,he may be good, he may not, but I stopped watching @ the 2:32 mark when they showed the guy had 18 losses on his rec....out of 34??:admin...... I know, Rigo has only 5 pro fights, but.... still a bit to go to start getting excited....

Rigo may be a title-holder but that's it. Too old and way over-hyped. He telegraphs like a mothe****er but he can get away with it against this level of opposition.

    in time, i concur

Lucian Bute does the same - its not conventional, but it doesnt make it less effective. Both use it as a defensive measuring stick/floating barrier, and offensively to confuse/distract the opponent, and they cant read from what angle that hand will come from...

he's proving to be a more powerful and diversified version of Mayweather...

    Gamboa - brawler styled
    Rigondeaux - controller styled

yeah, Gamboa has the "exciting" style and Rigo isnt, and i think thats why some lamo's are getting turned off from him. But thats alright. His opponent was a sturdy C-class journeyman w/ a decent established winning record. Thats pretty impressive for his 6th pro debut, considering he outclassed his opponent by TWO classes lol
