Is that how you judge the winner? By the cover? By the look of their face? For all I know, a boxer can potshot then run and run in the ring and comes out the winner. Take a look at the picture below. According to Pac fans, Pac avoided a punch while giving one himself. According to Floyd's fans, Pac's head was decapitated by Hatton! This content is protected
I'm certainly aware of what you stated (eg. Oscar fought Floyd at 154). I didn't think that I needed to state the who and why as I already stated that in my previous posts. Floyd need for quantity was not necessary because he had many opponents who would also have a low output. Manny may force Floyd in having to increase his output. I know that Floyd can throw combos. As I stated before, Floyd prefers a slow paced chess match so he can pot shot and counter. He is in better control of that kind of fight. If Manny can take Floyd out of his comfort zone then this would be a very interesting fight. Manny has the tools to do it .... some concerns are Manny's size but he has pulled thru before even with that disadvantage.
They don't even have to worry about it. Floyd would have an imprint of whatever glove he made Manny wear from a right hook to his suspiciously fragile chin. Manny and Roach have been creaming since the Mosley fight knowing they can be in there with a fading fighter who has no knockout power and can be take out early. No way Floyd can be anywhere near her comfort zone so don't ever expect this fight to happen. Even if Floyd takes the fight initially he will pull out and try every trick in the book. He got Don King involved so he can play good cop bad cop which the silent Ellerby can't do. Floyd thinks this is Hollywood. He should pick one or the other, actor or boxer and stick with it.
Of course! But Floyd is effective when it's 1 or 2 shots thrown at him at a time. When Manny is throwing combos with 5, 6, 7 punches while he's using footwork, angles and movement Floyd's not gonna have an easy time. Cotto was done at that time and Manny could just rally off combos stationary b/c there was little if anything coming back. My point is PAC won't fight the same way with May that he did with Cotto.
Funny.....but at the end of the day Floyd is a great boxer with incredible talent. I just wish he thought it would be enough to KNOW he can beat Manny. Since he doesn't know he's acting in a way we've never seen before.
5 , 6, 7 punch combos on Floyd and not expect to get countered is laughable!!!! You are living in a fantasy land!!! How many of those 7 punches you think are actually going to land?
That's a punch that RJJ could also deliever as a thing of beauty in his prime. Just like for RJJ, it's a punch that will slow down as reflexes and speed diminish with time. Mayweather is turning 34 in February 2011, time flies...
Are you forgetting that Cotto was out boxing Manny for the first third of ther fight, had he been a better boxer and had a seasoed corner the fight may have been the same outcome but a closer fight. the thing with Floyd is his opponents try ad throw combos against him when they fight but his style and awkwardness negates that, just lke when JMM negated Mannys output to around half of what he usually throws/threw. obviously timing countering and good skills is why that happened.
agree and disagree Mayweather's first natural inclination #1 - damage mitigation through defense & avoidance #2 - when he sees a window or readable behavior, slip in 1punch counter #1 inclination will override #2's when it comes to multiple punches. He avoids firefights because he wants to mitigate damage and definitely avoids needlessly getting KO'd. Ive watched him too many times clam up on the ropes and hide behind his shoulder, try to slip in 1 or 2 counter rights during a heavy combo. He NEVER looks comfortable doing it, and very tentative. Why? Because he's more worried about getting hit than enforcing his offense. This is why he'll fail against Pacquiao...
