 ^^ that avatar is ****ing hilarious.

Getting floored means put on the canvas. Its fairly self explanatory and clear where the phrase came from, the floor.

It can also be used in a metaphorical sense, but you wouldn't do that in relation to boxing as it obviously conflicts hugely with the standard meaning of the phrase. An example, "the bad news really floored him" etc etc.

Hmm...I didn't take your inability to grasp metaphor into account...I'm sorry I just don't have it in me to plummet down to your level.

no you get floored by "being hit and dropping/falling to the floor" just look at the poll results.

and you havent owned me about dirrell-froch, you disagree with me. there is a difference. i think it is a close fight that could go either way, you think it was dirrell clearly winning and those who disagree know **** about boxing.

he is a moron. if i said im going to watch "saved by the bell" people would assume it was that daft american sitcom. if during a fight i said he's going to be "saved by the bell" you would not expect him to guest appear on the next episode, you would expect he see's out the round.

boxing does have it's own dictionary, as do most sports. there are constant analogies, euphanisms ad double meanings throughout most sports.

You should close the poll as soon as/if ever it hits the 99% mark.
