German newspaper Bild is reporting Valuev was ringside at Huck - Godfrey on Saturday night in Germany. Bild is quoted as saying that Valuev is forced to consider retiring after a difficult surgical procedure on his shoulder and wrist scheduled for September of this year.

They quote Prof. Dr. Werner Wagner "That means six months of no exercise and no sparring. All of Nicolai's joints and bones have endured a lot of stress during his career thus far."

Bild continues asking Valuev "Will you ever get in the ring again?" Valuev: "We will see in 2011. My health is the most important issue at hand right now."

It's true people. It's being reported by American sources as well. For once, their anti-Niko propaganda has an element of truth. This is a sad, sad day. :verysad

I'm more worried for Boxed Ears than for Valuev after reading this.

We should avoid letting him know. This just might put him over the edge.

It's okay, BE. We'll take you out for a pizza. Your favorite: salami and ketchup.

The retirement of SNV would be a huge blow to the already ailing heavyweight division.

I think boxing history will look back at this HW period as being dominated by Sugar Nicolai Valuev. Only beaten twice (by blatant robbery) and then forced into retirement by injury rather than in the ring. A true warrior and ATG.

She's going to keep that hair in a ziplock baggie in her nightstand for the rest of her life. She might even glue some of that hair onto her dildo. :deal

:good All very good questions. Only time will tell. I'll say this though: if anyone has the superhuman ability of fast healing, it's Niko. He may even come back stronger. Like when you weld two pieces of metal together, it becomes stronger. A drop of his blood would be considered a performance enhancing drug, and it tastes like a fine vintage wine.
