When i strictly look at the styles match-up, i don't see Jones' style as being one that poses real problems to Robinson. But it just doesn't work like that sometimes. Jones would be really diificult to beat not only at 168, but at 160 imo. Robinson at middleweight is still one of the greatest fighters of all time however, (unless we're talking the complete shadow of, the one that eventually retired), and with his style of boxing, ridiculously good footwork and ability to blitz you before you know what's going on, he might win. It's hard.

all-time fantasy match-up. i like jones to win an ugly, close decision. jones was a naturally bigger fighter. that, along with his speed, would be the difference imo. robinson struggled to split two fights with turpin and those fights were closer to his prime. turpin wasn't even close to being in jones' league.

jones was asked who would have won between them on espn during an interview and jones responded by saying that he would have been too big for robinson. he made the point that robinson started his career at 135 while jones started his career basically at middle. having said this, jones also has stated that robinson was the greatest pound for pound fighter ever on a number of occasions.

RJJ by unquestionable UD. While SRR was second to none in both ability and toughness, Jones was both naturally bigger and speedier. Ray, while being in the fight the whole time, is never quite able to catch Roy cleanly too many times IMO.

Who did Jones ever beat that makes you people think he could hang in there with SRR?

Jones has all the advantages at MW, although maybe Robinson has the better chin (hard to know at this weight and in Jones prime though)

Who has RObinson ever beat that makes you think he can handle the strength, speed, power, size of Jones?

Because strength was such a relevant part of the counter punching, fleet footed Jones game right? He really bullied guys around in there!

Also, Fullmer and LaMotta were both proven to be stronger then Jones.

Roy Jones didn't like to fight punchers. Julian Jackson, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Gerald McClellan were out there and Jones fought none of them. Sad.

I just think with SRR not being to extraordinary IMO at MW RJJs natural athleticism, speed advantages and his size and strength advantage that he should be able to take a UD.

You feel strength in the punches that someone doesn't put 100% on, its relevant. Jones cleaned out most of the LHWs, Lamota got wrecked there

Eubank and Benn turned down fights with him, Eubank said as much, McClellan was his friend. You're told this on every thread but you continue to fabricate lies and run from the threads once evidence is presented
