Jirov wasnt the same fighter 2 seconds after the fight. Toney ended his career in that brutal encounter
It would be another pointless fight against another inactive past their best fighter, he needs to hunt for a legit title at LHW at least or someone active that the world knows. Greens camp have been very silent since the day after the Briggs **** fest, usually he has somethin to say every 2 weeks but seems his team are hiding under a rock.
this was just Jirov calling out Danny and RJJ at 'the scene'.Green hasnt accepted the challenge to my knowledge.
I imagine from the responses that a lot of people here haven't seen Jirov fight. This guy was an absolute beast in his day, equal to any cruiser at the time, his very close encounter with Toney is testament to that. He beat a lot of contenders quite convincingly while champion and comes from the Kostya Tsyzu Eastern Russian School where fighters train like demons and only come into the ring at 100%. While he is getting on a bit and hasn't done much lately I wouldn't count him out. He is naturally a lot bigger, has fought some good opposition and should be able to handle Green's power with little trouble. The guy is quite accurate has good power, and at least in his prime had a very high punch output. If they did fight at the proper cruiser weight limit (200lb) my money would be on Jirov, even considering his inactivity in recent years. If this fight is made at 185lb or something there's no way I'll make the time to watch it.
i think green and adamak would be a special fight and1 the fans would want to to se.he was a bit rusted but green still broke brigss easy.a lot easyer then adamak did but p[aul was a better fighter then.lets se brigg and adamak again they had 2 great fighhs before and would put on a showe.briggs would'nt wont to go out like this so its good redemton for him.
adamek is a heavyweight and getting ready for the klitschkos, have you been watching fights? Briggs wouldnt get a liscence anywhere after his dive..
lol You obviously have no idea who Jirov is which is kinda sad. He was clearly past his prime at 29 yrs old after the Toney fight. His lengthy amateur career coupled with the style in which he fought brought it about. He beat CW Troy Ross at the 1996 Olympics yet Ross who's 34 is prime while Jirov has been shot since late 2003. Says the guy who is trying to make Jirov sound like a credible opponent and legit player at CW. Not to mention you saying they have had similar careers. Boxrec noob. Ya it's kinda sad to see. He had a great chin before but his punch reistance is defenitely gone now. He has always used Jirov but Zhirov is a more accurate transliteration in my opinion.
This has to be a gee up doesn't it. Not that funny but no one who knows anything about boxing could think Briggs and ademak would fight again, he has to be throwing a line out to see who will bite
u said it perfectly yourself. we know the dude can fight ffs, that is not the arguement. there is a wave of criticism over green and his choice of opponents and he is expected to fight a very credible fighter next. if anybody thinks that green fighting a guy who has fought only once in 3 years is a great choice then u should stop wasting precious oxygen and bury yourself. u r delusional!
